On the island of Oahu, surfer Sean Jones is the accidental witness of a gruesome crime committed by underworld boss Eddie Kim, who has inside men in the local police force. FBI agent Neville Flynn takes the terrified young man into his protective custody and intends to bring him to Los Angeles to testify, but the crime lord has taken extraordinarily horrific steps to ensure that the 747 that carries Jones and Flynn never makes it.
