The nuclear conflagration that had nearly consumed the world generations ago stripped away most of its bounty, throwing survivors back to more savage ways of existence. Amid the ruins, Ryan Cawdor leads the daring few who wage a grim battle in a quest for a better future.

As elsewhere in the Deathlands, what remains of the Sunshine State is ruled by tooth and claw and unbridled instinct. It''s an alien, inhospitable terrain of sulphur pits and lethal geysers, inhabited by mutated life-forms. Here Ryan finds that survival demands hard and fast choices and unexpected alliances. To hold his band of warrior survivalists together, he comes to an agonizing crossroads, torn by a debt to the past and loyalty to the present.

Hope died in the Deathlands, but the will to live goes on.

Not the best of the series but still a good time. The characters keep you in the story with a few giggles and some sarcasm along the way.
Yes and No by Vann (Posted on 10/3/2016)
As others have said, it was a bit lacking, but that was just due a closer look at the character dynamics. The production was good, as normal for Graphic Audio.

I enjoyed the book very much!
Still fun by frederick (Posted on 12/5/2015)
While again it was an ok storyline it is once again just another day for the gang of merry killers.
Not a bad book by Larry (Posted on 3/13/2015)
Not a bad book to have not one of the better ones but well worth having
Not bad. by Levi (Posted on 12/3/2014)
This book didn't really "wow" me. It was just another day in the Deathlands. Don't get me wrong, I still liked the book but it wasn't anything special. There were a few key events in this book (mostly in the last cd), so I wouldn't miss it if you're listening through the whole series. If I had to pick something about this book that I really enjoyed, I loved the jokes the characters made; definitely one of the funnier books.

This has it all, muties, great character bits, firefights. If you don't like this one, you won't like Deathlands.
