A generation after a global nuclear war, Louisiana is a fetid, sullen landscape of impenetrable swamps and grotesquely mutated wildlife. Above the gnarled bayous, radioactive red dust clouds race across the sky on nuclear winds; below, thick mud sucks at a man''s boots. Now and then a biting acid rain falls, swept in on the boiling winds from the Gulf.

In the reeking swampland that was the Mississippi basin, neutrom bombs have left barren cityscapes the territories of small groups of bitterly opposed survivors. Ryan Cawdor and his companions Krysty Wroth and J.B. Dix come upon one such group who are striving to revive life on earth the way it was before the bombs fell. But they''re up against a postholocaust feudal lord who''s just as determined to wipe them out.

In the Deathlands, the world blew out in 2001. The future is emerging.

I liked the swamp setting a lot for a change. Great story!
A movie in your mind, a scavenger hunt in reality. by Kevin O'D (Posted on 11/5/2016)
After listening to books 1&2 of the series, I couldn't wait to listen to 3. But I had not found anymore in sequence the last 2 fuel ups. they jumped into the 30's, 50's and higher. I was worried that 4 and on may become harder to find. Book three brings us to the swamps and Jack! great story line and characters! It keeps getting better!
vils by nicole (Posted on 11/4/2016)
I love the stories behind each of the Vil's and their Barron's. The author never runs out if ideas. I didn't adventure each story!

Deathlands 3 - Neutron Solstice by Grant (Posted on 6/10/2015)
Another great title.
New character is introduced and Ryan's back story is opened up a little.
The saddest part is the loss of one of the characters we have gotten to know.
deathlands 3 by travis (Posted on 6/8/2015)
Great installment. I loved the introduction of a new character and it was very emotional with the loss of another. I also enjoyed getting a little back story on Ryan.
#1 Pilgrimage to hell by Theodore (Posted on 4/27/2015)
I love this audiobook
a Dazed and Confused Review by Dazed and Confused (Posted on 4/14/2015)
A heart pounding tale, with glimpses into the far past. The Trader days as training make Ryan and War Wag Crew a force to be reckoned with.
awesome by Christopher (Posted on 4/1/2015)
After the last book this one had me on the edge of my seat can't wait to get the next one
Jak! by James (Posted on 3/27/2015)
This book introduces my third favorite character in the series, after Ryan and JB. This title was a great bounce back book from #2 which was not nearly so good as this of #2.

the intro of jack was the perfect addition and it makes you eager to see what the future holds
A Great Intro by Vann (Posted on 7/7/2014)
Yes, a great intro for a timeless and classic character, Jak. The production quality on this one is good and all of the actors are at their typical best. The plot has a few light time wasters but they don't hurt the timeline or story too much. Well done.
Deathlands Neutron Solstice by Steven (Posted on 6/6/2014)
Louisiana, Gators , swamp and one sick Baron who controls it all. All except for The Snow Wolf, Jak Lauren who stands in his way. Can Ryan & friends turn the tide & find a new friend and allie
One of the All-Timers in the DL Canon by Tad (Posted on 6/3/2014)
If you're only going to listen to a handful of Deathlands stories, this is one you don't want to miss. Jak Lauren is introduced here, and we get a good insight into his background and motivation. The Finn character is still part of the group here, and provides good comic relief, and you can't beat this baron as one of the all-time most sinister. Great scene in the old optometrist's bunker; Ryan's fascination with the end-times in the U.S. is a recurrent theme.
Neutron Solstice by Luc (Posted on 5/11/2014)
Best way to spend 6 hours on the road
Neutron Solstice by Darren (Posted on 12/19/2013)
One of my very favorite Deathlands story. Fast paced and riveting plot. Enter Jack who becomes a long time companion. This story will not disappoint.

THE BEST DEATHLANDS BOOK THIS IS ONE YOU HAVE TO GET
Review by Chris Nardone (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Another brutal and exciting entry. Major kudos to the actor who voiced Don Haggard, the guy on the old vid Ryan and J.B. watched. That was one of the most engrossing portrayals on tape I've ever heard. Gut-wrenchingly realistic and hard-hitting in the description of his nuke-blasted neighborhood...his thoughts, his feelings and his pitiful demise. A small part, but deserves special recognition.
