Snakefish, California, is rich in the currency of post-holocaust America-gasoline.

Almost leveled by the Soviet missiles that annihilated most of the West Coast, Snakefish is in the midst of a reconstruction, financed by a commodity far more valuable than the usual Deathlands jack.

But greed and man''s lust for power threaten to shatter the hard-won peace and tranquility of this fledgeling community as disparate factions fight for control of the substance that will give them wealth beyond their wildest dreams.

Ryan Cawdor and his companions emerge from a gateway and step into the path of a smoldering war for power.

Reviews

deathlands 8: ice and fire by Steve (Posted on 4/13/2017)
Have enjoyed all the books in this series so far and I won't blow it like another reviewer did and give up any of the story, but one of the true highlights of this book and, may I say, this series so far is Colleen Delany's rendition of Maddy Grove. Sandy Denny would've been proud. Bravo!

I've heard other books on tape that has one or two speakers trying to be multiple people. I love that this series has a whole cast. It really brings the book to life!

Absolutely love this series. Cant wait to listen to the next one!
8 : Ice and Fire by Glenn (Posted on 11/14/2015)
Good episode . The new character Rick Ginsberg adds a bit of a diversion to the usual mix of companions and Lori tires of Doc and seeks a younger bad boy. Bikers , Stickies and Giant snakes along with a scamming evangelist type family are the enemies in this episode.
Ice and Fire by James (Posted on 9/13/2015)
another awesome book fun with snakes
Deathlands 08 Ice and Fire by Grant (Posted on 6/11/2015)
Another great installment. Good to see one of the original characters finally get some "quality time". Warning- If you have an issue with snakes, this one will make your skin crawl.
Slickman The Man by Larry (Posted on 2/15/2015)
this book bring yet another frenzy in on the story and turns out to be a good book
A Left Turn At Religion by Vann (Posted on 7/21/2014)
Even in the DL's, religion is not lost, but it did take a left turn. Ryan also learns that poking the past can be both good and bad. Well done on most points, but the motorcycle sound effects are not close and the shift pattern was weird. It might be a small thing to some, but it sure bothered me each time I heard it. Reduction of one headphone for that.
Deathlands Ice and Fire by Steven (Posted on 6/6/2014)
Ryan & his companions thaw out Rick Ginsberg, a man from the past with
falueble info on Mat Trans. That is if the can avoid the Snake worshippers.
Review by Chris Nardone (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Thawing out a "freezie" was interesting, and the stickie battles were the high point in this fast-paced entry.
Review by Leif Kehrein (Posted on 5/23/2013)
A good story with an outrageous twist on religion. It went along well till the end. SPOILER do not read is you have not heard the book.

Even though Lori had become a problem I think they could have killed her off a better way
