Discover the origins of Durzo Blint in this original novella set in the world of Brent Weeks' New York Times bestselling Night Angel trilogy.

Gaelan Starfire is a farmer, happy to be a husband and a father; a careful, quiet, simple man. He's also an immortal, peerless in the arts of war. Over the centuries, he's worn many faces to hide his gift, but he is a man ill-fit for obscurity and all too often he's become a hero, his very names passing into legend: Acaelus Thorne, Yric the Black, Hrothan Steelbender, Tal Drakkan, Rebus Nimble.

But when Gaelan must take a job hunting down the world's finest assassins for the beautiful courtesan-and-crimelord Gwinvere Kirena, what he finds may destroy everything he's ever believed in.

Awesome story! Much insight into Durzo and why he is the way that he is. And the music is great as well! And, as always, Dylan lynch is brilliant as narrator. ^
A Dark and Gritty Fantasy Adventure, complete with lost loves, heart rending saddness blazing vengence, and Dark Rebirth! by Jason (Posted on 1/21/2014)
By far Perfect Shadow is one of my top ten favorite fantasy reads. Author Brent Weeks and the staff, directors, Narrators, and Crew at Graphic Audio really know how to bring the escence of this good story to life. If you enjoy a good trajic hero, then look no further than the world wearry warrior Galen Starfire, as he transforms himself through a grooling trial of blood and heartache in to the champian of all WetBoys Derzo Blint. The story is gripping and the Action is great. Get today. You won't regret it!

The full cast at GraphicAudio makes the characters come alive by AudioFile Magazine (Posted on 8/21/2013)
Enter the world of contract killers, sword fights, intrigue, and more in a fantastical world created by Brent Weeks. In this prequel to the Night Angel series, listeners meet ageless Gaelan Starfire as he morphs into Durzo Blint, who fights his world’s assassins. The full cast at GraphicAudio makes the characters come alive, from the seductive courtesan crimelord Gwinvere Kirena, who secretly rules the city, to ruthless killers. The cast plays gruff assassins and heartless rulers in a world where the weak don’t survive. Sound effects punctuate every scene, adding to the exotic atmosphere of cruelty. Dylan Lynch and company perform seamlessly between grunts and swordplay. PERFECT SHADOW sets the stage for this swashbuckling fantasy in a place, thankfully, far away from here. This is an awesome addition to a great series. Quality is top notch (as usual with GA releases). The only downside? It ends to quickly lol but it gives a ton of insight on Durzo and you will enjoy every minute of it.
