CIVIL WAR (MARVEL)

The epic story that blows the Marvel Universe apart!

Iron Man and Captain America: two core members of the Avengers, the world's greatest super hero team.

After a tragic battle in Stamford Connecticut, the U.S. government demands that all super heroes unmask and register their powers.

To Tony Stark—Iron Man—it's a regrettable but necessary step.

To Captain America, it's an unbearable assault on civil liberties.

So begins the Civil War.

I have been eagerly waiting for Marvel titles to find their way to Graphic Audio, being more of a Marvel fan growing up. I am so stoked. Like other GA titles, the production is top notch and the story is really good. I do agree with Scott, in that I do not know why they would leave off the ending... It felt a bit unfinished without that scene. Still, I listened to the whole six hours in two sittings. I think Civil War was great choice for a first Marvel feature as it introduces almost every major character in the Marvel Universe. I look forward more titles!

This is a great edition to the comics performances of the past including the DC comics events that Graphic Audio has performed. Iron Man sounded like Iron Man in the armor just like the movies and they pulled off a great Spiderman and Captain America. This selection did feel a little short and compressed since everything seemed to happen so fast and we didn't dwell on any on story line much. Considering how much material the actual even created in graphic novels they could have split this up into several parts. Really the only problem I have with this production is that they changed the ending by cutting out the last part of Civil War which has strong repercussions in the Marvel hero community. While they included the Captain America jail the cut out this. "Captain America is later seemingly fatally shot by Crossbones and Sharon Carter (the latter hypnotized by Dr. Faustus) on the way to the courthouse, leading to the conclusion of the Civil War"

Riveting. Blown away by the quality of this work! I intentionally paced myself not to go through it in a day. I was hooked within the first few minutes of listening. At the end of the graphic audio, they mention a Spider-Man story coming soon! Can't wait for that. (this was my first consumption of a GraphicAudio production. Because of my high level of satisfaction, I'll be checking out their DC titles while waiting for more Marvel ones to release!) - Luke

This was an outstanding production! I read the comic version of this when it came out, but having it performed like this added a whole other dimension to it. The voice acting was great; the choices for Spider-Man, the Invisible Woman, and even Mary Jane Watson were just some of the stellar choices made. I can't recommend this enough and I can't wait to hear the next Marvel adaptation.

Having read the comics, I bought the MP3 version of this story more for the voice acting and cinematic atmosphere that Graphic Audio provides in all of their work than for the actual story itself. Once again, Graphic Audio does not disappoint. They made some minor changes to the story ("Thou art no Thor!" was said by a different character in the comics), but the overall tone is the same. Their slogan is "A movie in your mind" and it couldn't be further from the truth. Excellent sound effects, voice acting and narration come together to paint a clear picture every time. If you enjoyed "Civil War" when it hit newsstands years ago, you'll love this adaptation. After you've listened to this, I strongly recommend trying some more of Graphic Audio's works. The Batman audiobooks are stellar, particularly No Man's Land. Make Mine Graphic Audio!
