"Their sound development for a range of hard to conceptualize sounds, like heat-vision or superspeed, manages quite well. Their integration of background music can subtly raise the anxiety and anticipation in listeners."  - Publisher's Weekly

I gave this one 4 and the second part 5 because I thought between the two should be a 4.5. This is an epic tale, told masterfully as only Graphic Audio does. It sort of starts in the middle of the fray, I'm not sure if I was supposed to have started with some other book in order to be up to date with what was going on at the beginning of this story. It does a fair job of catching us up within, I want to say, about the first hour. So many heros and villains and dimensions come into play in this two part set that it can be a little daunting to keep up with who is doing what at any given time. I have to say this for Graphic Audio. Their use of excellent and diverse voice talent and the expert musical direction saved this 12 hour adventure from being a confusing mess. By having voices that were recognizable and different from all the other voices, I was easily able to pick up which character was in any particular scene. The musical dips and crescendos were able to keep me on track with what was going on with the scenes. This is a book that could only have ever been done by Graphic Audio. By the end, nearly everything was tied up in a neat little bow. All in all I loved the whole story. I highly recommend. Of the 10 or so Graphic Audio DC Books I have listened to, I would rank this one (both books counting as 1) around 6.
