52 (1 of 2)

A year without Superman. A year without Batman. A year without Wonder Woman. But not a year without heroes... Earth’s most revered heroes have vanished. In their absence, the cities of Metropolis and Gotham have fallen prey to the machinations of super-villains and the criminal activities of Intergang. Booster Gold, a hero from the future, has stepped into Superman’s boots only to find them too big to fill, especially when rival hero Supernova arrives on the scene. Recruited by the mysterious crime fighter known as the Question, detective Renee Montoya investigates an even more mysterious vigilante prowling the streets: Batwoman. These and other veteran and rookie heroes around the world must unite against a vast conspiracy of evil about to usurp control of the Earth once and for all... (Part 1 of 2)

Although I wasn't a fan of the comicbook series I love this production. At first I thought it would turn out to be a miss. But I was happily surprised. At times it's fast paced, at times it's sad. Actually had I not listened to this adaption , I would not have picked up the comicbook collection books for this storyline. Very good job.

This one was very interesting. I was not expecting to like it because of the fact that I am not as familiar with these characters. But the story line was good and once again..... the voices are great. How can you not get wrapped into feeling bad for Booster Gold. Or have mixed feelings about Black Adam.

I have to say that I was kind of put off with not knowing what to expect without the main characters. Yet I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a sequel. I think it held a little to long the "Montoya" and "Question" characters and could have spent a little more time with "Batwoman" and the "Gold" characters. Other than that it was great.

I have to agree with the sentiments that "52" does not hold up as well as Infinite Crisis. To me this story does have depth but lacks the grandness of it's predecessor. I enjoyed the dynamic between Montoya and The Question. This adaption follows the comic series very well and is a fun adventure.
