52: Part 2

A year without Superman. A year without Batman. A year without Wonder Woman. But not a year without heroes... Earth’s most revered heroes have vanished. In their absence, the cities of Metropolis and Gotham have fallen prey to the machinations of super-villains and the criminal activities of Intergang. Booster Gold, a hero from the future, has stepped into Superman’s boots only to find them too big to fill, especially when rival hero Supernova arrives on the scene. Recruited by the mysterious crime fighter known as the Question, detective Renee Montoya investigates an even more mysterious vigilante prowling the streets: Batwoman. These and other veteran and rookie heroes around the world must unite against a vast conspiracy of evil about to usurp control of the Earth once and for all... (Part 2 of 2)

Well done conclusion to the 52 title. I have friends who have gone out and bought all 4 DC comic titles based on hearing snipits of mine. Fast paced and full of surprises.

Things heat up rapidly in the second part of 52. A perfect balance of tension-laced action, great production value and seemingly real situations drop this one into my top five. A few new characters, a few unfinished issues with the old ones and a million new problems make this one a welcome addition to the action packed and critically aclaimed Infinite Crisis which was the first two-part series to welcome listeners to the DC world. This book was also quite touching to me. It's romantic in an epic sort of way, with beautiful music and wonderfully thought out writing. You get it all when you listen to this one! I want to say it's the best I've seen GA do, but I'll have to read it a few more times before I do. Don't even try to predict this book. Every sceen left me guessing and some left me surprised, which is pretty rare for me. Ken Jackson's performance as Black Adam was just amazing! I loved that character by the end! It's hilarious to hear him interviewing someone on a podcast being so polite and courteous and then decide to rip apart an entire country. *grins*Once again, GA delivers it's promise of "a movie in your mind."
