1: Blood Debt

The Blood Runners are an ancient culture, a separate branch of humanity. Possessors of occult knowledge and power, isolated by their own choosing in the forbidden Obeah system, they conduct horrific experiments exploring the nature of suffering, death and immortality. And the person Owen Deathstalker cares for most has fallen into their aberrant clutches. But Owen''s Madness Maze-given powers appear to have abandoned him after the exhausting battle of Lachrymae Christi. In a stolen starship, the Deathstalker races against time on a desperate mission that is equal parts rescue and suicide.

The blood runners are in trouble now. They have kidnapped Hazel D'Ark. Now she is in a labatory in the Obeah System and much of the Blood Runners story is to be told. Can Owen save Hazel much less himself. And who will be left standing at the end of this tale.

Rick Rowan has done a tremendously tremendous job on these books. This is what started my GA craze. A friend of mine let me borrow his mp3 cds and I was dazzled by how cinamatic these stories were. I'd never read any of them, but in a way I'm glad I didn't because I got to see these characters in a way I might not have otherwise. These are sort of a cross between fantasy and sifi with maybe thriller thrown in for good measure. It's a bit hard for me to explain them since they're not fresh on my mind, and they're a bit daunting to just jump into. However, if you do the right thing and start from the beginning unlike yours truly I'm sure you'll love them. They're great!
