5: Matt Jensen - Snake River Slaughter

Matt Jensen didn’t want to kill two murderers in Wyoming but he had no choice. Now, his fame has reached into Idaho Territory where a woman Matt knew as a child in an orphanage is being hunted by predators… Kitty Wellington inherited her uncle’s 20,000-acre ranch—and a mortgage—on the Snake River. She plans to pay her debt by selling thoroughbreds to the U.S. Army. But a relative is trying to steal it all…until Matt enters a fight whose most dangerous combatants have yet to show their hand.

Behind one man’s evil plot is a small army of vicious killers masquerading as peace officers in Boise. For men who are used to getting their way, the odds in this fight look pretty good…until they meet Matt Jensen.

Alright, how do I do this. This book was...well, I gotta say lazy is the best word for it. Nothing against the actors, they did a fine job. It's the story and direction. First the story- I don't blame Graphic Audio for this. I think this is a source material issue. I think the original book must have been lacking. This was more like a novella. The entire story could have been told in two episodes. It felt dragged out and no real sense of urgency. The villain is very thin (good voice acting though with what they had to work with.). And what is with all these scenes where they just tell that Matt got hurt or was in a gunfight? Also the music... what happened? Scenes just end. In silence. In the past, there was great segue music. It just sort of felt cheap and uninspired. Not one of the best, sorry.
