A kingdom hangs in the balance...and a young boy answers the call.

Carrying a sealed message from the war-hero Dragon King to the queen, Quentin and his outlaw companion, Theido, plunge headlong into a fantastic odyssey and mystic quest. Danger lurks everywhere in the brutal terrain and particularly in the threats from merciless creatures, both human and not-so-human.

While at the castle, the wicked Prince Jaspin schemes to secure the crown for himself and an evil sorcerer concocts his own monstrous plan. A plan that Quentin and Theido could never imagine.

In the youth's valiant efforts to save the kingdom and fulfill his unique destiny, he will cross strange and wondrous lands; encounter brave knights, beautiful maidens and a mysterious hermit; and battle a giant, deadly serpent.

Graphic audio did great, but... by Clayton (Posted on 5/23/2016)
Disappointed. The whole story was forced and over simplified. This along skipped details and amazing coincidence and unlimited luck for every character left little to actually invest in the story.
enjoyed on the road by michael (Posted on 4/6/2016)
As a driver I have long hours spent staring at the road but this story helped make the miles melt away to my destination

It's a cool story if in a audiobook drought to hold you over.

The story and narration were executed together in style. As always, GA did a great job with this release. The voices, music and ambiance were all distinguishable without interfering with each other negatively. I especially liked the voicing since some don't always come across well which leaves me to fill in the gaps myself since I didn't understand what had been said by one character or another. My only problem with this trilogy was the one simple thing that all series face; an end.

The end made me want more and that is hard for me to get me interested in fantasy stories. Our son enjoys listening to “dragon king” as well.

This book is like many others, starts a little slow but grows on you. I enjoyed the books quite a bit. I would recommend it.
GA Masterpiece by MDOG (Posted on 11/11/2013)
This is an amazing production with few flaws. Very family friendly with no cussing and little violence. Excellent acting and music.
A Fantastic Coming of Age story With epic music and sound that had me listening like a hound! by Jason (Posted on 10/2/2013)
I really have to hand it to the talented men and women at Graphic Audio, for all of their care devotion and love of what they do. I'm a fantasy nut, anything with swords and sorcery and an epic journey to find one's self is my cup of tea. The cast and crew of Graphic audio really brings this story of Stephen R. Lawhead's to life in such a way that it really does feel like a movie in your mind.

My first GA purchase and WOW! I have a 30 min commute each way and usually listen to courses from The Great Courses or Modern Scholar. Audio books had always been a little on the dull, dry side until I discovered, by chance at a Flying J's while on a road trip, Graphic Audio. I am hooked! The sound effects, incredible voice-acting and production values are amazing. And the price is just right. Keep 'em coming! This story had me hooked. I would purposely slow down while commuting just to listen for a little bit longer. I let the kids listen to the first hour and they loved it as well.

I Really enjoyed this story line. It kept me in suspence! It raised my emotions! I wish the story line was longer. I can hardly wait to get the next series.
