3 : Talons of Eagles

by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone
Dec 1, 2006
7 Hours
Ages 18+
This latest installment in Johnstone's series about frontiersman Jamie MacCallister finds the former gunfighter, now 50, leading a serene life of retirement in Colorado even as his sons are fighting on both sides of the Civil War. Summoned to Washington, Jamie is offered the position of chief scout for the Union by Lincoln himself. But though the rugged Westerner loathes slavery, he loves states' rights more and, after a meeting with Robert E. Lee, he signs up with the Confederacy as commander of a guerrilla band.

Eagles 3: Talons of Eagles by RAYMOND (Posted on 4/23/2014)
kept me on the edge of my seat, I'm a RV hauler and I didn't want to stop and sleep until the story was over, it was that good. It was living the war and life right there step by step with the family. I can't wait till 1am to go to work to hear the next book in the series.
Eagles 3: Talons of Eagles by Timothy (Posted on 8/23/2013)
These stories really explain how life in those times was difficult for the entire country as well as the people. The men were often serving their countries and protecting their citizens, while the women were holding down the home front.
Review by Dale Barkman (Posted on 5/23/2013)
The Civil War background was very well done. The author really made a point to show how the war split families as well as the country.
