Great start by K (Posted on 8/7/2018)
This is the great start to a new series. It has a unique take on the paranormal and introduces an awesome heroine who is able to kick butt and take names, but is still a complex and vulnerable individual.
Not Particularly Enjoyable by Amy (Posted on 8/1/2016)
I've tried listening to this twice. Once was 5 years ago, when I had this on CD. I didn't finish it then because I stopped using my CD player. Now I've tried it as a download, and I just didn't enjoy this. I loved the voices, as usual, but the story just didn't grip me. I also did not like Jill. I found her annoying, especially when she was complaining. I just could not stand her. After two attempts, I'm putting this away for a while. Maybe in the future I'll like it, but not at the moment.

Review by Johnny Tai (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Took me ages before making up my mind to read this book- mainly because it took me that long to get over the, though enjoyable, neurotic Dante Valentine...

And what do you know? Here we are stuck with yet another supposeably kick-ass heroine, again blessed with demon power and a lousy childhood, and just as needy, whiny, neurotic and contrary as Dante...

Again I find the book really enjoyable, but kinda leaves me in a bit of a stomach cramp with it's vague motives, psycho-neurotic females, unfulfilled love affairs, and Twilightism (that's when all werewolves are good looking and the demons are even better looking...) OMFG!

If you can survive these little...problems...you'll really find this series exciting and full of action and violence...and sex...

There's also a fair dose of tabboo mentioned, in particular Jill sleeping with her teacher...and a lot of BDSM.

As far as performance goes it's top notch as usual...though in some parts there appears to be some editing issues when voices overlap and characters saying their lines a bit too early- you'll notice that in particular when Jill is grunting in battle...at times it's almost like two Jills making noises at once lol.

Oh, and Jill and Harper are easily confused...they sound almost identical at times.
