Johnstone Christmas
2 : A Rocky Mountain Christmas

by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone
Nov 1, 2012
5 Hours
Ages 18+
Three days before Christmas, Matt Jensen is traveling the Denver and Pacific railway when an avalanche slams down onto the train, trapping it in desolate Trout Creek Pass. But it wasn't an act of nature that caused the accident; it was a gang of outlaws attempting to rescue their leader, who is being taken to Red Cliff to be hanged.

As Smoke Jensen and Duff MacCallister frantically try to make their way to the scene, Matt struggles to save the survivors, among them a beautiful young woman with a dark past, a merchant seaman turned rancher, and a senator with his very ill young daughter. Starving under a bitter, driving snow in the brutal, unforgiving Rocky Mountains, and surrounded by armed and desperate outlaws, Matt still dreams of making it home for Christmas. But unless fate lends a hand, nobody will.

A ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS by MARY (Posted on 2/17/2019)
Train Terror-for the Holidays! by Catdaddy (Posted on 12/11/2017)
True to the cover image, this is a classic thriller-on-a-train with all the classic tropes present and accounted for. It’s largely a tense, adult Western set at Christmas, more than a holiday story throughout. It is well-paced, with time to offer enough background on our protagonists before gathering them aboard.

“Rocky Mountain Christmas” was this author’s first encounter with GraphicAudio's many adaptations of William Johnstone’s western novels, and it works well without any prior knowledge of the characters. It is easy to recognize several cameos by the titles of other GA offerings; certainly Matt Jensen will be worth further examination. And, yes, the ending of the story is warm and seasonal.

The drama is a mild PG-13, suitable for about ages 13 and up. Some violence is integral, though not described especially graphically. The adult language is negligible; however, there is frequent discussion of prostitution, though again without any details of the job description.

So heart warming. Brought tears to my eyes one minute and then laughing the next. Great job
An ending that made me smile by Guy (Posted on 10/11/2016)
I thought this was just an OK story after listening to four discs, but the fifth and last disc, with some strange and miraculous events had me smiling…even laughing out loud a time or two! The last disc also added a star to my rating.

Two prisoners, a woman run out of town for working at an establishment of ill-repute, a senator with his wife and young daughter, a man who helped catch one of the prisoners, plus others are stranded on a train in the Rockies after it’s partially buried by an avalanche in the late 1800s. GraphicAudio does their usual job with voice acting, music, and sound effects.

Christmas 2: A Rocky Mtn. Christmas by Chrystal (Posted on 3/4/2014)
Yet another Fantastic struggle to make it home for the holidays! A great story told in the best way possible by GA. I now have this and the first Christmas book. I will soon have them all and I'm sure the next one will be as great as the others. Preacher made a Cameo appearance which was very well done and wonderfully unexpected. Awesome job guys! A+++
Review by Johnny Tai (Posted on 5/23/2013)
A very well executed Xmas tale, with all the good elements from Johnston's various books- and very few of the bad.

The acting is top notch as expected from Graphic Audio, and the story is full of touching moments, has a touch of mystical element, and no shortage of action either.

It's the kind of happy ending we need for Xmas stories, and yet it is so different from your triditional Xmas tales that it is unique and worth reading.

No matter if you like western or not, or if you're a fan of Johnston's gunfighting heroes, or just needing a very original Xmas story to share with friends and family, this is a book for you.

Considering I usually dislike Johnston's books, this is really saying alot.
