Eric Carter

Necromancer is such an ugly word, but it's a title Eric Carter is stuck with.

He sees ghosts, talks to the dead. He's turned it into a lucrative career putting troublesome spirits to rest, sometimes taking on even more dangerous things. For a fee, of course.

When he left LA fifteen years ago, he thought he'd never go back. Too many bad memories. Too many people trying to kill him.

But now his sister's been brutally murdered and Carter wants to find out why.

Was it the gangster looking to settle a score? The ghost of a mage he killed the night he left town? Maybe it's the patron saint of violent death herself, Santa Muerte, who's taken an unusually keen interest in him.

Carter's going to find out who did it, and he's going to make them pay.

As long as they don't kill him first.

Not Bad by K (Posted on 8/16/2018)
GA did a great job, it'll be interesting to see how the next book pans out; a lot happened in this one.
Very enjoyable urban fantasy! Dresden like! by James (Posted on 8/8/2018)
Very well written and performed! I have been searching and searching for an urban fantasy book to fill the emptiness left by ending of the Iron Druid Chronicles and the hiatus of the Harry Dresden Files...I found it! The Eric Carter series is much better than the summary listed on this site! The narrator and the other performers also do an excellent job!
Great story by Chris (Posted on 3/15/2018)
Good start to the series, but I hope things improve for the character as time goes on. The main character is morally ambiguous, but hope things improve for him as time goes on. I started reading this and couldn't stop.
Fantastic! by Jennifer (Posted on 12/1/2017)
Stephen Blackmoore is a great, fast paced writer who hooks you right in! This audio production is hands down my favorite. The acting is realistic and believable, the sound effects enough to draw you in, and the humor woven throughout had me laughing out loud. Loved the whole series!
Gods and Ghosts a pleanty! by Armand (Posted on 11/5/2017)
This series is surprisingly entertaining! Imagine being forced to deal with all the halloween and ancient spirits in a game of "Guess what's next!" and being constantly surprised.
If Harry Potter and the Exorcist had a baby it would be Eric Carter. by Shawn (Posted on 5/16/2017)
I've listened to this title three times now, and each time it gets better. It is extremely graphic and violent which makes the listening experience very life-like in my opinion. It kind of makes me wonder if such magic actually exists in the world (not really, but the story does come across as very realistic). The high quality of their product is typical of GraphicAudio and very much expected now--so no slacking, guys.

I love how the story is narrated by Eric Carter himself. Some parts are maybe, kind of, almost scary, but overall it's just a fun ride into the dark side. If you love to imagine the what-if world of the dark arts as well as a good amount of blood and guts, then Eric Carter was tailor-made for you.
Eric Carter dead things by Jolynn (Posted on 12/5/2016)
The narrator and all of the voice actors and actresses in this GA fit their characters perfectly. This book was very good and i can't wait to see how the story progresses. This is definitely worth the $20.
Broke my heart by Amy (Posted on 10/29/2016)
Like the title says, this book broke my heart. So much happened, and Eric, our protagonist, could not catch a freaking break. I loved it, though. Loved every second. I cannot wait to listen to the next one.
Awesome by jason (Posted on 10/10/2016)
If you're into magic fantasy buy this book.
Awesome by Robert (Posted on 12/27/2015)
A fantastic start to a new series for me, must have listened to it a dozen times already. Eric has taken his place (at least with me) among the ghostfinders, Mick Oberon, nerkopolics.
Book 1 by justin (Posted on 12/7/2015)
This is a really good news series love it
Supernatural Thriller by Michael (Posted on 10/21/2015)
A great listen.
A quick start, fast pace, with enough twists and turns to keep you entralled.
Made me want to pick up the second installment as soon as I had finished the first one.

Well done Graphic Audio folks.
Eric Carter - Dead Things by Michael (Posted on 10/15/2015)
As with every Graphic Audio book I have purchased, it is fantastic.

Well voiced, exciting, with good music, the book makes time fly. Well worth the purchase. Listen and enjoy!
Gritty Urban Fantasy by Jennifer (Posted on 10/14/2015)
When Eric’s sister is murdered, he’ll do anything to find her killer–including stepping back into a past he’s avoided for years, and signing on to be the enforcer of an insane Goddess of Death.

I read Dead Things when it first came out in Feb of 2013. It seemed like an incredibly long wait for Book Two, Broken Souls, in August of 2014. And now an even longer wait for the yet unpublished Book Three, Hungry Ghosts. I’ve been putting off reading Broken Souls because I needed to reread Dead Things to remember what happened.

So when GraphicAudio.net shared a Twitter post about Dead Things being in audio, I whooped! I really like the GraphicAudio offerings — at least the ones I’ve heard so far — so I snatched the recording up fast!

Though the main narrator isn’t the voice I would have imagined for Eric, I got used it quickly. There was a lot of drinking and falling down sounds that got a little repetitive after a while. But aside from those minor nit-picks, I really liked the production.

This isn’t really a feel-good, happy ending book. I remember feeling really bad for the protagonist, both the first time I read the book and this time, because he’s totally being played. But I’m really looking forward to seeing him get justice, or revenge, in the upcoming books.

If you like grittier urban fantasy, I’d certainly check this out in either book or audio — but the GraphicAudio production is really fun.
An interesting main character by zoe (Posted on 10/4/2015)
Eric embodies the mood of the book so well and his insights are funny and dark. A very enjoyable listen!
Great story! by Joseph (Posted on 9/18/2015)
The narrator does really good. The plot moves pretty quick. Enjoyed the story very much
Great Follow up by Jermane (Posted on 8/30/2015)
This book was the bomb Yo!! I loved the twist at the end; Eric Carter is a true Noir Hero it's like even when the guy wins he ultimately loses but then again all heroes of that nature make for the best character.
I enjoy the expanded universe by damien (Posted on 8/26/2015)
If you like City of the Lost you will like this story. My only issue is I found Eric a bit dense and unlikable, but I suppose thats about right for a sociopathic necromancer
Money Well Spent by Tyler (Posted on 8/23/2015)
I enjoyed this audiobook a lot and can't wait until I get to listen to the next one.
Gods, Magic, Ghosts, Gangsters, & more - so much more by CBH (Posted on 8/17/2015)
I've read the first two books in the Eric Carter series prior to listening to this release. This production was even more enjoyable than my first read. There are SO many details that I missed the first time around that jumped out when revisited. This is a great story - same universe as City of the Lost - but different main character. Fantastic 5 hours of non-stop paranormal noir. I'm looking forward to listening to Broken Souls.
If you love the books you'll definitely love this by David (Posted on 8/8/2015)
I read the books originally and loved every minute of it, this makes the experience of reading the books I love even better! The voice actor's capture each individual character perfectly, I seriously can't wait for Broken Souls to be released.
a great listen by daniel (Posted on 8/6/2015)
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this title produced in Graphic Audio.
The main narater seems to have captured the mood of this piece very well, and I can't wait for the next release in this series.
Great job and keep up the great work!
