Eric Carter
2 : Broken Souls

by Stephen Blackmoore
Aug 24, 2015
5 Hours
Ages 18+
Sister murdered, best friend dead, married to the patron saint of death, Necromancer Eric Carter's return to Los Angeles hasn't gone well, and it's about to get even worse. His link to the death goddess is changing his powers, changing him.

While searching for a way to break Santa Muerte's hold over him, Carter finds himself the target of a psychopath who can steal anyone's form, powers, and memories. He can be anyone. He can be anywhere. All he has for help is a Skid Row bruja and a ghost who's either his dead friend Alex or the manifestation of Carter's own guilt-fueled psychotic break.

Everything is trying to kill him and nothing is as it seems. If all his plans go perfectly, he might survive the week.

Just as good as the first book by Alan (Posted on 3/28/2018)
Really good story that makes a long drive fly by. There are enough twists and turns to keep you interested and the story moves along at a fast enough pace that you won't get bored listening to it. I would definitely recommend this series and City of the Lost, if you're looking for a story to listen to.
Guy can't catch a break by Chris (Posted on 3/15/2018)
In the second book, Eric Carter is either going insane or seeing the ghost of his dead friend. You'll have to read to find out which, but the poor guy goes from the frying pan into the fire in the sequel to Dead things.

Gods and Ghosts a pleanty! by Armand (Posted on 11/5/2017)
Continues on and better than before! Will a Jin pour you some Gin? Would you marry a God? Very entertaining!
Please don't be the last one! by Shawn (Posted on 5/16/2017)
Broken Souls is just as good as Dead Things, no question about it. But I fear this second installment of the dark, bloody world of Eric Carter may be the last one. I could be wrong, of course. I hope I'm wrong, but who knows?

All I can say is I love listening to GraphicAudio and I hope they stay in business for a long, long time (which,if they keep up their high standards that should be no problem whatsoever).
On the edge by Aaron (Posted on 11/29/2016)

Great Story! by Jennifer (Posted on 12/18/2015)
Dang. Eric Carter can’t catch a break, but it makes for a damn good story!

What we learn from Broken Souls is that Santa Muerta is one sneaky witch. She seems interested in what Eric Carter, necromancer, can do for her (though we don’t know yet what that may be), but at the same time, she pulls some seriously nasty mind games on him. And then there’s her ex-husband, who would rather be a stone statue hidden underground than be married to her. Wow.

Considering Eric’s world, the Bruja he encounters seems *really* trusting. She seems paranoid enough, hiding her true identity for quite a long time. But she seems to expect Eric to be a “good guy.” I kept wondering why she wasn’t more suspicious.

Though his friend, Alex, is dead, I do like the way Blackmoore found a way to include him in this second book.

And can I just say… THE ENDING! The big reveal at the end? I had no idea, didn’t expect that at all. And the fact that you could reasonably say, “WHICH big reveal?” is pretty telling.

I am really enjoying this series, especially in the Graphic Audio format, and can’t wait for Hungry Souls!

Book 2 by justin (Posted on 12/7/2015)
This was a really good book hope they don't stop it here
A mile a minute thrill ride by Michael (Posted on 10/21/2015)
Carrying over from the first, this does not disappoint.
I'm not going to give away any of the good stuff, the plot twists keep you listening.

And of course there is a cliff hanger ending... making me scream! (smile)

The voices match the characters well, making suspension of belief very easy.

Can't wait for the third part.
Great Paranormal Noir by CBH (Posted on 9/6/2015)
I've read the first two books in the Eric Carter series prior to listening to this release. Even though I knew what was coming, I thoroughly enjoyed this recording. I like the universe the story takes place in & I'm anxious to hear what happens in book 3.
Pretty good by damien (Posted on 8/26/2015)
Again I like the expanded universe, story was fun but forgetable. Best part is the return of the bruja from City of the Lost.
