Earth, 2512 A.D. Humans have spread across the six arms of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Unified Authority controls Earth's colonies with an iron fist and a powerful military----a military made up almost entirely of clones. But four centuries of relative peace are about to be shattered...

Lt. Wayson Harris is one of thousands of clones born and bred to be the ultimate soldiers. But unlike the others, Harris is an outlawed model -- one with independent thoughts and an addiction to violence.

Presumed dead after his troops were massacred, Harris -- who blames the U.A. for the slaughter -- has gone AWOL as a bounty hunter. Still, it's hard for a clone to overcome his conditioning, and Harris finds himself drawn back into the U.A.'s service by his mentor and creator, Fleet Admiral Bryce Klyber.

Now, with separatists rebelling throughout the galaxy, the fate of the U.A. depends on Admiral Klyber's plans for the Doctrinaire -- the largest, most powerful battleship ever constructed. But there are those who would do anything to stop Klyber, and Harris must decide whether he should fight against them...or work for them.

the book really comes alive by Jen (Posted on 2/20/2015)
This is the book that really sold not just the Rogue Clone series, but Graphic Audio for me. There is a true visceral feeling in the book. I listen in the shower often, and the book dang near killed me, during a scene in which Harris is being tortured. He screams out in pain, I jumped, nearly fell, and my heart was beating so fast! The actor SELLS it and I believe it.

The story begins two years after Harris, the last of the Liberator clones, was presumed dead. He's been living as a galaxy hopping bounty hunter, learning the trade from the indomitable Ray Freeman. But Harris was made by the Unified Authority and has a hard time putting them behind him entirely. Although I suspect Harris' true motive is for his clone brethren he left behind. Men who are used and disguarded as easily replaceable tools.

Wayson returns to the UA on the request of the man who is, essentially, his maker. Admiral Klyber was the man originally behind the line of Liberator clones. Despite their history as psychopathic murderers, and the law against their creation, and he commissioned Harris. Now he asks for Harris' help in saving the Unified Authority from the Confederacy.

The book is fast paced, and action packed. It'll be over before you realize, so enjoy the ride.

Very Good by Loren (Posted on 11/16/2013)
This was my fist ever audiobook in general, let alone Graphic Audio. Even though this was volume 2, I was still able to thuroughly follow and enjoy this story since while written as a series, they can easily stand alone. It definately started my addiction to audiobooks.
