Legends of the First Empire
1 : Age of Myth (1 of 2)

by Michael J. Sullivan
5 Hours
Ages 13+
Michael J. Sullivan's trailblazing career began with the breakout success of his Riyria series: full-bodied, spellbinding fantasy adventures whose imaginative scope and sympathetic characters won a devoted readership and comparisons to fantasy masters Brandon Sanderson, Scott Lynch, and J.R.R. Tolkien himself. Now Age of Myth inaugurates an original five-book series.

Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever.

Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

Age of Myth pt2 by Daniel (Posted on 2/9/2019)
I was extremely pleased with this presentation. The storyline was captivating and very well written and the voice acting was fantastic. I really became attached to the characters and have listened to this book several times and I always enjoy it.
I have decided to research the Author and series to add to my collection.
I enjoyed it! by David (Posted on 1/9/2019)
I really enjoyed this book and was pleasantly surprised with the funny little twists and humor. Definitely laughed out loud a few times. Looking forward to the next book.

good set up for part 2 by Lionel (Posted on 11/13/2018)
I think this is a good set up for part 2, really liked parts of this one, and laughed along more than once. Will be getting part 2 asap.
Myth of Ages by Chris (Posted on 9/17/2018)
The story is really, really, really long. That's sort of the problem for my enjoyment of it. This installment seemed to cut off as things became interesting, but there's little way around that. There is history, setting, and characters to arrange. For me this would fall into one of Graphicaudio's books that I would enjoy more if I had all the parts together as one long playlist I could go through at once.
Age of Myth by Charles (Posted on 9/4/2018)
Very good audio book. Wish it will continue
I like it by rafael (Posted on 8/5/2018)
Even though this story or similar thing like it has been done before this was still likable, and I'm looking forward to the next part.

I fell as if I heard this story before but it was still a enjoyable book.
AMAZING START TO A 6 BOOK EPIC! BUY THIS NOW! by John (Posted on 6/23/2018)

I realize this is just the first half in a 6 book epic. What if you read the first 1/3rd of "Fellowship of the Ring?" You may or may not continue, especially if you don't know of Tolkien and Hobbits and Gandalf yet.

Michael Sullivan has been compared to Tolkien, Sanderson, Lynch and more. You certainly want to read of Sullivan's version of hobbits, his version of Gandalf, his version of Aragorn, Legolas and much more. No, this story isn't about a ring, not even close. Those tales are now considered tropes to be avoided they've been repeated so often.

Book 3 of 6 is about to come out in print. Graphic Audio will catch up quickly. This half sets up some worldbuilding and some characters and some political changes as well as learning more about their supposed gods and their mortality.
We really haven't seen the scope of the true villians yet and the villian that we suspect isn't even close.

Believe me when I say to stick around because both halves together will be truly satisfying. Michael Sullivan's works are so good, they have such great re-readability or in this format, you will happily listen to this tale time and time again. I do gladly.

We haven't even had the Fhrey sorceress Arion come to Dhal Rhen yet. She is 1/3 of the story herself. When the story is stopped Raithe dearly wants to protect Persephone from execution. That's where the book break is.

Part 2 will bring this all to life Graphic Audio style. I can't wait to hear it myself. I'm buying it Day 1. Any Riyria fans out there? Royce and Hadrian? This is the same land of Elan but an ancient Elan 3,000 years back before they invented many of their modern constructs.

I rated this half 5 stars, I would rate part 2 with 6 stars if I could. It's that good.
