World of the Lupi
8 : Death Magic

by Eileen Wilks
Oct 1, 2014
6 Hours
Ages 18+
DEATH MAGIC opens with Special Agent Lily Yu in Washington, D.C. with her fiancé—lupi prince Rule Turner—to testify before a Senate subcommittee about her role in the magical collapse of a mountain last month. She is not there to tell them about the strange legacy she carries from that event—or about the arcane bond between her and Rule--or what her boss in Unit Twelve of the FBI’s Magical Crimes Division is really up to. She sure won’t tell them that the lupi are at war with an Old One who wants to remake humanity in her own image.

Lily is managing the conflict between her duty as an officer of the law and the need for secrecy pretty well... until the rabidly anti-magic senator who chairs that committee is murdered. The line between right and wrong, always so clear to her, becomes hopelessly blurred as events catapult them all towards disaster, and prophecies of a cataclysmic end to the country she loves and serves--and to the entire race of lupi—seem well on their way to being fulfilled.

Great Listen by Jordan (Posted on 2/6/2019)
I really enjoyed all the internal conflict with Lily in this one. Seeing the evolution of the shadow unit is also very interesting. I get to the end of a book and am immediately ready to start the next book, so I think that says something about how awesome this series is!
This series is excellent by Amy (Posted on 1/8/2017)
This series is getting better and better.
World of the lupi Death Magic by John (Posted on 10/17/2016)

wuli blood magic by pauline (Posted on 8/4/2016)
This is a good story. Just want more on everyone else other the two main characters. This series is really good. All characters involved including grandma.
Good Mystery by Jennifer (Posted on 11/17/2015)
Death Magic is a great murder mystery that moves the overall story arc forward in surprising ways.

I have enjoyed all of the World of the Lupi books, but I *really* enjoyed Death Magic. I think I liked the murder mystery aspect of the story – a senator is killed and Ruben Brooks is the suspect. Go figure out who dunnit! There are also politics, a secret crime-fighting organization, and doppelgangers, which are really horrifying things, when you think about it.

Lily is also dealing with the clan mantle she’s carrying, and it’s having a negative effect on her. But I LOVE how that gets resolved.

I wasn’t a big fan of the Elemental storyline; however, I wonder if there is more detail in the book vs. the audio that would make that part of the story more substantial.

Overall, there is a LOT happening in Death Magic. Be sure you’re caught up on the series before reading this one.
good plot by Sarah (Posted on 8/4/2015)
Wow, the plot keeps getting better and better. And all of the characters in the book including the one who does not want Lily to use her gift end up learning their lesson in the end.
Lupi 8 by Jermane (Posted on 2/26/2015)
Still getting used to Rules new voice, but this story is getting better and better. I'm losing money on this series I can't wait for the next book.
world of the lupi by Scotty D. (Posted on 12/7/2014)
love the series, hope it continues. I love all of the characters in the books. I'm a long hall driver, and I get lots of enjoyment from them. I'm having trouble with book 8. I can not get it on my computer. maybe Colin can magic it on.
Death MagicI by Vickie (Posted on 12/2/2014)
L really love this series. It didn't take me that long to get used to the new rule voice. I didn't find that much different
Death Magic by Jacob (Posted on 11/6/2014)

World of the Lupi by Gail (Posted on 11/2/2014)
I love the series but I've having a hard time getting use to the new Rule voice. It reminds me more of a College History Professor than a man who can change into a wolf. There is no growl to it like the first book but am waiting for the next book.
Lupi by Jeannie (Posted on 10/30/2014)
This is my first graphic audio I have heard. I really like it. The back ground in the book is not bad either.
World of the Lupi by Karl (Posted on 10/13/2014)
I was never into anything but the westerns and now I have listen to all 8 of these so far and found myself wanting more. Love the way its part of today not future or past.
rule by mike (Posted on 10/13/2014)
Do not like the new voice for rule. Has no feeling in his voice and is very monotone. The only reason it gets five is cause it's a good book and series.
world of the lupi by robert (Posted on 10/8/2014)
this is a great book
world of the lupi 8 death magic by Jesse (Posted on 10/5/2014)
