World of the Lupi Book Two

Lily Yu is at a family wedding when she is attacked by a demon. Although she doesn't remember the details, she feels a magical residue left behind from the attack. When she and Rule are separated due to another attack by Harlow and a demon, Lily wakes up without the use of her gift. Meanwhile, Rule and another Lily are in the demon realm with Gan, the demon who tried to possess Lily. Everyone is trying to figure out how to get Rule home, and Lily is slowly growing weaker.

If you're looking for the introduction to the demon realm and a bit more Cynna in your story, this is the book for you!
Amazing book by Michelle (Posted on 11/12/2017)
The second book in the series. I loved Gan. I judge a good book by its ability to bring out an emotional response. This book made me laugh, and cry. I couldn't wait for the next one. Amazing series. Hope it sticks around for a long long time

My wife listen to this book first and she insisted I needed to listen to the entire series with her I'm glad I listened because it is the best series I have ever listen to I like the way it ties up everything that talks about even if it doesn't cover it in this book it will tied up in the next book I like the books they pick up where they leave off in each series and is the best series if you want to close your eyes and imagine a movie you can just close your eyes and listen to it and you can see what's going on it's a great price if you buy it by the set it can be a little pricey if you buy individually but honestly it helps me stay awake on the road because it keeps me focused on the story and the stories are awesome I don't know what I'm going to find to beat this series

There's really nothing I can say I did not love about the book I love this book because it is so detailed you can literally close your eyes and see the movie in your mind which what am I saying all of the books on this app are but this is one of the greatest series except for silver series I have ever heard I don't know which one's the best I put both of them at the top of my
Not the best entry by Amy (Posted on 10/23/2016)
I liked the first half, as well as Cullen and Cynna's building relationship. I did not like the second half. Like someone else said, the splitting of Lily was crap. I found it annoying, and was so confused for so long. Skimmed to the end.

Of course the GA cast and crew did a top notch job. While I had my issues, none of them had to do with the acting. Superb as usual on that front.
A Great Follow-up by Cassiopeia (Posted on 10/19/2016)
What I liked best about this story is that it takes place almost immediately after the first. We're still getting to know our characters and how they interact. And boy do they interact. Rule and Lily are both very strong personalities and that reflects well in the acting while still managing to capture the softer side of their relationship. I particularly enjoy Lily's odd relationship with Cullen and Cullen's even odder relationship with Cynna who isn't sure whether she wants to kill him or jump him.

The acting is all strong and the story is well paced with, again, my few complaints relegated strictly to the original source material for cliches and predictability. Otherwise, a lot of fun. Thank goodness I don't have to wait for number 3!
there was not really anything I did not like by Paul (Audiobook Reviewer) (Posted on 4/15/2016)
Another great listen….. I don’t want to give to much detail as I might give spoilers so I’m going to go with what I liked…..there was not really anything I did not like just some bits that creeped me out at times, like in the prologue where we meet Gan, the description of Xitil and his/her court….gah it was icky. I guess one thing that did bug me was the secrecy if Lily is Rule’s “chosen” why the delay in explaining things. I know that there is a larger story arc and world building but it bugged me.

What I liked – mostly at the beginning where we get to see more of Lily’s relationship with her family… and I just need to say her domineering cousin Freddie was such an ass….anyway the family dynamic was pretty interesting. I also liked that we get to learn more about the werewolf culture and their society. I also really liked Gan, she was very interesting. Lily being split was also interesting weird but interesting. Dragon’s are introduced in this one and end up making their way out of Hel/Dis and it will be interesting to see what role they will play in future books. I also hope we get to learn more about Grandmother, such a secretive and interesting person

While I enjoyed this one, something about it just did not pull me in like the first one, not really sure what it is, I will continue to the next one and keep my fingers crossed that it pulls me in like the first book did.

While there were a few new additions to the story, the introduction of Cynna and the relationship between her and Cullen was fun to watch….two strong personalities clashing….can’t wait for more.

As usual, the narration was great, and I can’t say enough how much I love a full cast narration….it just makes the story so much more entertaining. So if you have not yet started the series or this book….get the graphic audio and get swept up in the World of the Lupi.

What I Liked: Lily and Rule continue to build a real relationship around the forced mate bond. They argue and make up and learn to appreciate each other. So while the reasons for the relationship are forced, they are creating something real.

One of the scenes I enjoyed the most came at the beginning of the book. Lily and Rule are at a reception for Lily’s sister’s wedding. From Lily’s point of view, we get to see more of her relationship with her family, including a domineering cousin and Lily’s younger sister, Beth. From Rule’s point of view, we learn how he feels about his public persona. Rule is getting groped by an older auntie of Lily’s, and though Rule is patient and kind with the old woman, he does think about how often he’s objectified because of his semi-royal, playboy reputation. It’s hard to feel too sorry for Rule, being gorgeous and famous; but, it’s not often we get to hear the perspective of a man who’s being objectified, so it is refreshing.

I like the “relationship” between Cynna and Cullen, too. They are spiky with each other, two dominate personalities circling each other, taking each other’s measure.

Finally, we get to learn more about the werewolf culture and spiritual practices, which I find very interesting.

What I didn’t like: I didn’t care for the portrayal of Hel and demons – particularly because of all the sexual references that I didn’t feel were necessary. It felt as if the author was trying to titillate a fifteen year-old boy with the overt sexual descriptions.

I also wasn’t too fond if the splitting of Lily – one in our world and one in Hel – and the solution to bringing her back together. That felt fairly contrived to me.

Mortal Danger AudioNarrator: Again, the GraphicAudio full cast recording made the world pretty rich. I particularly like the actress who voiced Cynna – she gave Cynna the perfect personality.

Overall: ♥ ♥ ♥ Otherwise, I felt this book was more Urban Fantasy than the last one, focusing more on the adventure than on the building of the relationships. I can’t say I loved it, but I’m going to stick with the series for a few more books, at least, believing there more good stuff to come.

Dragons!!! by Jermane (Posted on 1/4/2015)
I am so glad I stuck to this series; the voice acting and production as always is just top notch. After every story I am expecting some theme song after watching a movie. If a person picks the movie rights to this book and dose this half as good as you guys do this book then I would definitely go see this.

The Hits just keep coming by Michelle (Posted on 8/22/2014)
This is the second book in this series. Now normally when I am reading a set of books that comes in a series such as this one, the second and third books kind of are eh.. not great, but not bad.

That is SOO NOT THE CASE here. Book 2 of this series is just as captivating as book 1. It just made me love this series all the more. I couldn't wait to buy book 3.

Original concept. Emotional climax. by Juliette (Posted on 3/13/2014)
Listened to this chapter about 3 times. Really fascinating and complex. Plays into the next 2 additions and ties in many new characters. My favorite, Cinna, introduced and relationships made more complicated. Still love this series.

Another good entry in a great series by Vicki (Posted on 8/27/2013)
I made lots of comments on the audio production of GA on book 1 so I'll just say that I enjoyed the story of this book. One thing I failed to mention in the previous review is I thought that Lily seemed a bit off in casting (just because I was expecting more of an Asian sounding character - not that she didn't do a fine job). I can't wait for the entire series to be out in audio and am waiting to get my greedy ears on book 3 and my greedy eyes on the new release this fall!
