It has been 100 years since the Soviets conquered the United States and much of the world. Now the scattered Free Cities within the U.S. are about to unite and form a new nation with one goal: to forever drive the hated Soviets from America's shores. And there's only one man who can spearhead this second War of Independence: the Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson. However the insidious KGB, lead by the maniacal Colonel Killov, are planning to destroy the fledgling rebellion in one nuclear swoop by planting a spy in the midst of the historic gathering. If Rockson is to succeed, he must first brave nature's post-apocalyptic nightmare that is America 2089 and make the dangerous trek cross-country to the secret meeting in one piece.

Third try by ZJ (Posted on 8/20/2018)
Listening to this title was my third, and probably final, attempt at getting into this series. There were far fewer villains planning their dastardly deeds scenes in this edition of the series, and I counted that as a plus. Still couldn't get into it the way I get into other GA productions. I figured out that it's the predictability of the plots and the flatness of the characters that is bothering me. After three books, you'd expect to see some kind of development of character, but it seems like things just happen and characters react very predictably. The length of the stories also bother me. It's one thing to check out an over-the-top action movie that lasts one-and-a-half or two hours, but close to five hours is just too long for this kind of story. I just can't get into this one, but if others dig it, that's cool.

I need to take a second here to mention that GA's production work in this title is just as great as it always is. GA's production never detracts from the overall experience of listening to one of their productions.

This one sticks out in my memory because of the desperate situations and badass action sequences I enjoyed from the comfort of my headphones. YOu just have to love this series for it's ability to make pretty much anything possible and sound good doing it. This book is also pretty much out in the field mos tof the way through so you don't have to watch bad guys plan or ride around in vehicles blasting people. This ones just dust, lead and bodies. Best way I can say it!

I love this series, on my third listen through.

All the voices are just perfect, and the sound effects are awesome.
