Modern Arthur Trilogy
1 : Knight Life

by Peter David
Sep 5, 2016
8 Hours
Ages 18+
More than 1,500 years after his disappearance into the mists of Avalon, King Arthur has returned. This time, he's prepared to rule the Camelot of a new millennium: New York City.

Handsome, charismatic Arthur Penn is running for mayor on a platform of common sense, humor, and knightly virtues. His advisors include a gifted ten-year-old named Merlin; Percival, an immortal accountant; and Gwen, a lovely young woman with no end of problems.

Their grassroots campaign steadily gains strength until scandal looms with the sudden emergence of Morgan Le Fay, Arthur's sorceress half-sister, and her son Mordred, the aspiring mayor's ambitious heir.

Pleasantly surprised by Norman (Posted on 8/28/2018)
I had a good feeling about this series. I thought it would be interesting, intriguing and exciting. It did not disappoint. There was a good bit of adult humor thrown into the mix. That really lightened the story up at times. Of course it made me laugh a great deal as well.
cute story by Curtis (Posted on 2/20/2017)
The title is a funny, cute and well written story. Very recommended for all.
Very Enjoyable.. by Doctor 57 (Posted on 12/24/2016)
I really enjoy all of Peter David's work and it has been great to discover that audio versions of his books are now becoming available through Graphic Audio. The story itself is very charming and funny about King Arthur's run to be mayor of New York. Looking forward to the next ones!
Modern Aurthur Trilogy by Clarence (Posted on 12/23/2016)
I enjoy Peter David's series on Apropos but here his lack of creativity is apparent. He has very limited knowledge of the Aurthurian mythos and has done absolutely nothing to learn about nor does he possess even a rudimentary understanding of the concept of Chivalry. An incredibly terrible book by this author.
great by douglas (Posted on 11/28/2016)
book was great. loved it.
Great new series based on an old story. ;) by Eric (Posted on 10/18/2016)
I really enjoyed it, especially the new characterizations of Morgan LeFay and Merlin. I kind of wished that Morgan could keep that opening character for a bit longer...really funny.

I'm looking forward to the next one!
All Hail Arthur Pendragon by Jin (Posted on 10/13/2016)
I went into this with just base enthusiasm for Arthurian tales and stories, and was pleasantly surprised and happy that the feeling you get from knights of old good vs evil and just general character development were really well done. the sound effects and voice acting were on point and overall I really enjoyed it and am now waiting to get the next one to be done so I can devour that one also.
Long Live the King! by John (Posted on 10/7/2016)
I am a life long King Arthur Fan. When I first heard of this book, I bought the Kindle version and couldn't stop reading. When I heard that GraphicAudio was adapting this series, I preordered it immediately. I had to get it. And I'm glad I did.

I'm not going to go into too much detail here, but suffice to say, this is a fantastic book.
The premise is basically King Arthur in Modern Day. Arthur awakens in Modern Day Earth and with the help of a teenage Merlin, decides to run for mayor of New York City. Along the way, Arthur runs into a lot of familiar faces including a very familiar woman by the name of Gwen.

The story itself is very well done. I am glad Peter David appears to be just as big a King Arthur Fan as I am. He understands perfectly what makes Arthur such a great hero: His moral compass, his devotion to righting wrong, and his badass attitude in the face of evil. Gwen herself was my second favorite character. She goes through a very well done character arc, one of redemption and self-realization. She goes from a beaten down flower into a fighter that is willing to go hand to hand with Morgan Le Fay herself. Merlin is the perfect example of a well meaning manipulative bastard. He does things that may seem immoral, but he does it for the greater good. Even if you want to punch him for it.

The sound direction and voice casting is fantastic with characters sounding just how I'd thought they sound and the music and background music being perfect. Buy this book. The story is great, the characters are great, it's just great. It's one of GraphicAudio's best.
