1 : Sidewinders

by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone
Jun 1, 2009
6 Hours
Ages 18+
Scratch Morton and Bo Creel, two aging cowpokes and friends for years, have seen their share of cattle drives, shootouts and bust-ups. They do their best to stay on the right side of the law, and never go looking for trouble, but it seems to find them just the same. In Arizona Territory, they get stuck in the midst of a battle between competing stagecoach lines. Of course, a pretty woman who happens to own one of the lines has a lot to do with it, and things aren't quite what they seem.

Great story, Great acting
Excellent by Wayne (Posted on 2/5/2015)
I love this series. Mort Shelby is the best actor for one of these guys. I loved this story as the first one. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest. There is absolutely no sexual situations in this story. None. Very little cussing. Just the normal violence of a western.

Sidewinders is typical of Johnstone's books- powrful heroes that are pretty much perfections walking, going about, handing out justice wherever they find trouble brewing.

The first book sees our heroes arriving at a town, finding a widow- yes, always has to have a woman in there somewhere, in trouble, and get them selves mixed in and ending up pretty much saving the day- accompanied with great acting and light-hearted music.

This series is similar to Blood Bond, with a humorous undertone and some fun moments and a cheesy casual western setting like those films from the 50's and 60's.

The naration is very good, and as I said before, the acting is top of the line.

As long as you going to this series knowing that it will be predictable, cheesy and fun, you'll find it to be quite good.
