A Marjorie Trumaine Mystery
2 : See Also Deception

by Larry D. Sweazy
Nov 30, 2016
6 Hours
Ages 18+
In a small North Dakota town in 1964, indexer Marjorie Trumaine investigates the alleged suicide of the local librarian, uncovering a web of secrets that puts her own life in jeopardy.

October 1964—Just months after freelance indexer Marjorie Trumaine helped solve a series of murders in Dickinson, North Dakota, she is faced with another death that pulls her into an unwanted investigation. Calla Eltmore, the local librarian, is found dead at work and everyone considers it suicide. But Marjorie can't believe that Calla would be capable of doing such a thing.

Marjorie's suspicions are further aroused when she notices something amiss at Calla's wake, but the police seem uninterested in her observations.

Despite pressing job commitments and the burden of caring for a husband in declining health, Marjorie sets out to uncover the truth. What she finds is a labyrinth of secrets—and threats from someone who will kill to keep these secrets hidden.

I cried so much by Victoria (Posted on 11/18/2017)
Doing my best not to give anything away. Just want to recommend this story and have you experience it for yourself . I become emotionally invested in Marjorie and the excellent execution of the production just added to that. A wonderful listen for the older woman.
I love this series by Laurel (Posted on 9/19/2017)
I loved both books, and the actors were awesome. Nanette is great as Marjorie. Hope there are more to come. I also enjoy the time period of the stories.
the plot thickens by Michael (Posted on 6/25/2017)
I purchased this audio book because I was waiting for another Ester Diamond book to come out.

Not really my cup of tea, but it taking part in the '60s made it enjoyable for me. Dial Phones, pay phones, and things like that made me smile.

Some tender "scenes" were good, but they didn't infest the story.

Voice actors of Graphic Audio did their usual outstanding job.
