Background from The All-Pro by Zack (Posted on 2/27/2019)
The Reporter is Scott Sigler’s GFL tie-in collaboration with Mur Lafferty, another long-time podcaster turned successful author. It fills in some of the background events featured in The All-Pro It’s another good GFL tie-in story that, while it doesn’t add a lot to the series overall, gives a glimpse into things happening outside of the sphere of Quentin Barnes and the Krakens.

More good work from GA adapting and producing this one.
Never Tried GFL? You Might Start Here! by Catdaddy (Posted on 8/25/2018)
Like “The Detective“, “The Reporter“ is a well-written ‘sidequel’ to the GSL chronology based around an investigation. The script does an impressive job with its exposition. Somewhat surprisingly, this story could stand alone as an introduction to the series. It also does an excellent job of fleshing out a character that deserves more depth, and filling in finder plot holes from the main chronology.

Exceptionally well written, this is arguably the best single story in the GFL offerings to date.

this was a good story. It gave you more insite on the supporting caracters and showed they had a story. very enjoyable.
Fun detective story with great action by John (Posted on 7/11/2017)
The GraphicAudio adaptation of The Reporter is wonderful. It’s very true to the novella, with seemingly little noticeable variation from the source. Again, the same cast members voice the same characters from the larger GFL series, and it makes the product have a very balanced feel.

This story is a basic hardboiled detective story, fraught with intrigue, betrayal, suspicion and ne’er-do-wells. Plucky reporter Yolanda Davenport is recruited to help clear the name of a GFL player she helped demonize when he was framed for murder. Given the opportunity to right the wrong, she and her assistant face perilous danger with every turn.

The full audiodrama production is again, well-done, though I dislike the vocalizations (rather, the lack of vocal effects) that specify the alien species. In this book, the entire story takes place on an alien colony, where there are something like four human characters, and the other races are barely distinguishable. It’s a consistent flaw, in my opinion, with all the GFL productions, but you have to just be ok with it.
Excellent Story Bridges Some Scenes! by Armand (Posted on 6/4/2017)
Fills some gaps about Grace.... Great story!
One of the best novellas I have ever read by Amy (Posted on 4/19/2017)
This novella blew me away. I was so impressed. The acting was top notch as usual, but even more so because I came to care so much for a character I was initially despising. I loved learning more about Yolanda, and hearing her friendship with Wykor (SP? No idea) grow. I loved those two together. I loved the intrigue and the action.

The most impressive? That I cared about a mystery I already knew was solved. THAT is hard to do when you write in between novellas. I was on the edge of my seat, even though I knew what happened in the end. And I LOVED seeing Yolanda's perspective on that end scene.

Even though I know it's the only one, I would still love Scott Sigler and Mur Lafferty to do a whole series of novellas from Yolanda's POV. I just adored this.
