Clint Conner took the horse only to stop a man from mistreating it, but a vengeful judge sentenced him to six years. Quietly serving his time, Clint suddenly finds himself free after he's swept up in a daring jailbreak.

Now a fugitive, Clint Conner will need courage, cunning, and cold-blooded ruthlessness as he rides the lawless prairie. But before Clint can escape to the hills of Montana, he'll have to outgun Sioux Indians and malicious outlaws, and face a final showdown with a marshal determined to bring him back as a prisoner -- or a corpse.

Another good book. I even kept listening to it when I wasn't driving. Story turned out well. Kind of surprised that with the open country in the northwest everyone kept running into each other. That was a bit odd. The marshal was the one the got on my nerves the most. it was like he was a robot and running a computer program, but in the end he did have a heart. I liked the way this story ended.

Also kind of surprised about the love scene between Johanna and Clint. Wonder it there will be a book 2 in 9 months? :)
Very good!! by Wayne (Posted on 10/5/2013)
This one was really good. Didn't find an x-rated scene but this story just has a good story line. The back and forth and way it ends is good.

Another fantastic tale set in the wild wild west, this book is true to the author's style- realistic, exciting, and the ending is nice and gentle.

You won't find your typical good guy verses bad guy, or Main Street shoot-out, nor will you find gunfighters that are as fast as greased lightning- what you find here are normal seeming people who try to do the best for them selves and struggle to survive.

Of particular interest here- Pete's issue with women- a nice little easter egg not often seen mentioned in western novels.

The only part that really annoyed me slightly was how Clint went back to Johanna even knowing the lawman's on his trail- that just seemed a bit too unrealistic for this book- too...Titanic-ish.

But again, young people can get stupid where romance is concerned.

On Graphic Audio's part, splended job as always- I love the voice for Clint...not sure which actor that is though- for the life of me I can't figure it out...all I know is it's the same voice for the main guy in Luke's Gold, and for Branson in Saga of the First King.

Oh, and nice little x-rated scene with Johanna and Clint too lol.
