9 : Texas Standoff

by Elmer Kelton
Dec 1, 2010
5 Hours
Ages 13+
Ranger Andy Pickard and new partner Logan Daggett become involved in an investigation of killings and stolen cattle, and find themselves in the middle of a 4-way fight, among two powerful cattlemen, a group of masked vigilantes called "regulators", and a hired assassin. Old resentments, mixed loyalties and misplaced trust feed the flames of battle. Andy and Logan may lose their jobs, even their lives, before their work is done.

Review by Wayne Noble (Posted on 7/12/2013)
I thought this was one of the best of the series. Even though it is the last it really is good. Logan Daggett's actor is great. He made that character really good. I must admit that I cheated on this one. The way the story was going it seemed that Bethel was standoffish with Andy and I was worried that she was going to do something stupid so I skipped to the end and made sure that she stayed with Andy and she did so I rewound it and listened to it all. I really thought it was a great story. Logan is a great character. Sad that Elmer died and this is the last in the series. It never really seemed liked he repeated himself. It was a good series.
