When does an empire fall?

The Seven Satrapies have collapsed into four - and those are falling before the White King's armies.

Gavin Guile, ex-emperor, ex-Prism, ex-galley slave, formerly the one man who might have averted war, is now lost, broken, and trapped in a prison crafted by his own hands to hold a great magical genius. But Gavin has no magic at all. Worse, in this prison Gavin may not be alone.

Kip Guile will make a last desperate attempt to stop the White King's growing horde. Karris White attempts to knit together an empire falling apart, helped only by her murderous and possibly treasonous father-in-law, Andross Guile.

Meanwhile Teia's new talents will find a darker use - and the cost might be too much to bear. Together they will fight to prevent a tainted empire from becoming something even worse.

It's not over! by Leslie (Posted on 8/30/2018)
Yay!!! There's more to come!!! Did Kip fail? Will Gavin succeed? What's up with Liv? I cannot wait for the next book!
Due For A Refill by Catdaddy (Posted on 8/25/2018)
Parts of the story have truly run out of gas. The endlessly circling scenes of Gavin in prison are as dull as the scenes of his brother imprisoned in the first three books. Kip’s struggles with leadership move along slowly. But there is one major speech, given right before the 5 1/2 hour mark, so brilliantly performed that it makes up for all of that. Ultimately, it is in the voice performances that GraphicAudio shines the brightest. As good as their sound design is, it is the actors that make the drama.

The real question is whether book 4 ultimately redeems the betrayal of the ending of book 3, “The Broken Eye”. The answer is, “kinda.” Our characters are allowed to move forward and redeem some of their losses, but they do not end up wither we want them to. Perhaps this unpredictability is a sign of good storytelling, though it is certainly frustrating. What is not in question is the skill of the production and the rich world-building of the narrative. This reviewer, at least, will stick with “Lightbringer” faithfully - if they ever bring us a fifth book.
Weeks is good... real good by William (Posted on 1/25/2018)
Not quite Brandon Sanderson but Weeks is really good and GA makes the stories leap into my head! Loving this series and can't wait for the next one.
Awesome by Travis (Posted on 9/16/2017)
Brent Weeks has rapidly become one of my favorite fantasy authors. I'm really enjoying the Lightbringer saga and GA's production of it. Awesome ride.
when's the next part??!! by William (Posted on 8/15/2017)
I've listened to the whole series and really like it. Gavin is a very compelling character and the twists Weeks puts him through keeps me coming back for more! Next chapter please!
Excellemt Production! by Justin (Posted on 5/29/2017)
The story itself is great. That goes without saying if you've made it this far, so I won't review it here. The production was really good, as usual. I read this book in text before listening to this adaptation, and it did it's job perfectly. One of the scenes toward the end made me cry this time around, something that didn't happen when I first read it. The emotions these actors convey are on point.

A minor issue. Christopher Sheeran's accent started slipping halfway through. I think The Dead Man was confusing him, and they got blended together. I hope to see his wonderful British accent come back into play for the 5th and, most likely, final installment of the series.
very interesting by rafael (Posted on 5/19/2017)
I must admit these stories are getting more interesting. I like seeing the story coming together.
Not really on par with the first part of the book... by Patrick (Posted on 5/5/2017)
...but still going quite strong. Looking forward to the next book!
Loved it by Tyler (Posted on 4/30/2017)
What can I say, its a fantastic audiobook, great story and a great production. This part has some scenes that pull at the heartstrings a bit, which I liked, can't wait for the final book to be released (still being written, I don't expect the book to be released for another year or two).
Awesome yet sad... by dave (Posted on 4/28/2017)
This one is an emotional roller coaster! Brent weeks set'em up, and the GA cast knocked'em down!
