8 Hours
Ages 18+
As the old gods awaken and satrapies splinter, the Chromeria races to find its lost Prism, the only man who may be able to stop catastrophe. But Gavin Guile is enslaved on a pirate galley. Worse, Gavin no longer has the one thing that defined him -- the ability to draft.

Without the protection of his father, Kip Guile will have to face a master of shadows alone as his grandfather moves to choose a new Prism and put himself in power. With Teia and Karris, Kip will have to use all his wits to survive a secret war between noble houses, religious factions, rebels, and an ascendant order of hidden assassins, The Broken Eye.

This can't be the end for Gavin. I can't wait to see how he gets out of this mess.
Middle Child Syndrome by Catdaddy (Posted on 8/25/2018)
The middle volume of this third book is gathering its strength and building towards the climax. Mercifully, it isn't entirely a dark story. There are wonderful, joyous moments between the members of the blackguard, but there are also frustrating scenes of emotional torture. In fact, the story oscillates between great tenderness and unbearable odiousness as good characters support each other, and others wind up helpless in the hands of their enemies. Ultimately whether the journey has been worth it will be determined in the final part of this story. (Be warned: it does *not* end tidily.). Note, however, that the end of part II is quite random and not a proper cliffhanger - nor the end of this section of the overall story.

Again, “The Broken Eye” earns it's R rating, with some violence and some language – though never capriciously so.
The Epic Continues by Travis (Posted on 4/23/2017)
I'm really enjoying this story. The characters keep growing and the plot continues to surprise and intrigue me. Kip is really growing up, and I enjoy his self-deprecating humor. The voice acting is superb, as is the narration--as always. GA does a great job with adding music and sound effects to enhance the listening experience.

Part 2 of The Broken Eye is like every other part of this audiobook series, it just keeps getting better and better. I have never had such anticipation for a book nor have I had a book be SO worth the wait. Brent Weeks is now my favorite author thanks to this series alone, do not miss out!
