Gavin Guile is dying.

He'd thought he had five years left-now he has less than one. With fifty thousand refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies.

Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole sixteen years ago.

Still top notch! by Patrick (Posted on 4/10/2017)
The second part of the book is as good as the first one.
Enjoyed This by Travis (Posted on 3/29/2017)
Listened to this part while putting together a jigsaw puzzle. It kept me entertained while I searched for all the pieces. Kip's blackguard training is interesting, as is his encounters with elder Andross, and his developing friendships with his fellow trainees. Everyone has adult motivations and Brent Weeks does a nice job of surprising you with unexpected twists. GA does a wonderful job with adapting it, as they always do.

Good book
Edge of the Deep End by Catdaddy (Posted on 2/28/2016)
More violent than part one, this middle installment of the middle book has fights, threats of torture, and a sex scene in the sixth hour. This is a stronger PG-13 knocking smartly on the door of R. Sometimes the most challenging elements are psychological: reasonable people, whose motivations we generally support, committing atrocity. What makes this all tolerable is that the narrative considers these actions from every moral vantage-point. Moreover, the characters also experience great tenderness - and great sorrow. Like part 1, this is very well-written: a journey with characters you will want to follow.

From the moment the first disc played to the seconds before the last finished, I just couldn't help but want MORE of the story. Always left me scrabbling for the next disc in my excitement to continue the story! Well written and executed into audio!
