Stormlight Archive
3 : Oathbringer (2 of 6)

7 Hours
Ages 13+
In Oathbringer, the third volume of the New York Times bestselling Stormlight Archive, humanity faces a new Desolation with the return of the Voidbringers, a foe with numbers as great as their thirst for vengeance.

Dalinar Kholin’s Alethi armies won a fleeting victory at a terrible cost: The enemy Parshendi summoned the violent Everstorm, which now sweeps the world with destruction, and in its passing awakens the once peaceful and subservient parshmen to the horror of their millennia-long enslavement by humans. While on a desperate flight to warn his family of the threat, Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with the fact that the newly kindled anger of the parshmen may be wholly justified.

Nestled in the mountains high above the storms, in the tower city of Urithiru, Shallan Davar investigates the wonders of the ancient stronghold of the Knights Radiant and unearths dark secrets lurking in its depths. And Dalinar realizes that his holy mission to unite his homeland of Alethkar was too narrow in scope. Unless all the nations of Roshar can put aside Dalinar’s blood-soaked past and stand together—and unless Dalinar himself can confront that past—even the restoration of the Knights Radiant will not prevent the end of civilization.

Amazing by Travis (Posted on 1/15/2019)
As always, GA does a masterful job of adapting the book into an audio theater format. Dylan Lynch is perfect as the narrator, his voice fits the story perfectly. I love the way the spreen voices are enhanced with the filters to make their more foreign than the human characters. Syl is my favorite. I love her and Kaladin's relationship/banter. Shallan's struggling with what she's becoming and the expectations of her from others. Dalinar is trying so hard to fulfill his mandate from Honor. Unite them. The story is so epic and vast, yet Brandon Sanderson tells it so well, makes you feel for this characters, even minor ones, showing that everyone's story is important to tell. I've very much looking forward to listening to more.
Keep the Story going...in your mind. by John (Posted on 12/20/2018)
It is going to be a real treat listening to all 6 parts of this massive book. Brandon Sanderson writes these humongous tomes and he says that he writes out the enormous outline for the novel as if it were a trilogy. That's right, in this one book, Oathbringer, you are getting a whole trilogy worth of story. So even though we are on Book 3 of the Stormlight Archive, in a more technical manner, we are all on Book 9. Enjoy this next segment.

Trivia: With the recording of Oathbringer, the voice acting roles of Scar and Moash are now reversed. I wonder if this was on purpose. #Bridge4ForLife
Fantastic by Chris (Posted on 6/14/2018)
Love the series on GA. I bought the other version through Audible but wasn't as engaging as GA. Definitely worth the wait.
Better by Mr Ryan P (Posted on 6/1/2018)
This amazingly gets better and better than the first. He builds upon the first section with action packed at every turn.
First time listening pre zip download by Scott (Posted on 5/31/2018)
I saw part two of Oathbringer was available for pre order and listen on the app but I'd have to wait for the download zip files, so I just went and ordered the zip file and then listened to part two on the app. We learned more about Dalinar and the Stormfather and how his powers seem to work, though those abilities are still mostly mysterious. Shallon is investigating cases of repetition imitations of violence that are occurring while searching for Sadeaus killer and we the return of the True voidbringers who aren't exactly what you thought they wore. They did a great job of acting, music and sound effects. Look forward to the next installment.
Amazing as always by Aaron (Posted on 5/14/2018)
The music, voice acting, and sound effects are as amazing as always.
So good by Justin (Posted on 5/6/2018)
Listened to the first 2 books on graphic audio and tried listening to oathbringer on audible because graphic audio wasn't done yet. I couldn't do it. All the voices were just wrong and no sound effects. Glad I waited
