Warlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is an unparalleled genius. Warlock Holmes is an idiot.

A font of arcane power, certainly. But he’s brilliantly dim. Frankly, he couldn’t deduce his way out of a paper bag. The only thing he has really got going for him are the might of a thousand demons and his stalwart companion.

The game’s afoot once more as the long-suffering Dr. John Watson and a partially-decomposed Warlock Holmes (though he’s getting better) face off against Moriarty’s gang, the Pinkertons, flesh-eating horses, a parliament of imps, boredom, Surrey, a succubus, an overly-Canadian aristocrat, a tricycle-fight to the death and the dreaded Pumpcrow. Oh, and a hell-hound, one assumes.

This one was more interesting to me then the first, I like how the story focus more on the main plot and not side track so much.
Excellent Continuation of the Series by Cerise (Posted on 2/8/2019)
I went on a knitting binge and listened to this whole series over a couple of days, loving every minute of it. Too often, the second installment of a series disappoints, when compared to the first story, but I didn't find that to be the case here. The format of retelling canon Sherlock Holmes stories continues and that delighted me to no end, for I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan since childhood. The 'Warlock Holmes' twist, though, was a fun, funny and refreshing twist on the classic tales and the GA production supports the supernatural elements, as well as the characters' personalities greatly. I didn't find myself getting distracted, as I can when I listen to audiobooks or radio presentations for long periods of time, and that was a very pleasant surprise. Definitely a purchase I've had zero cause to regret!

Can’t wait for the third book!
Back from the Dead! by Scott (Posted on 2/5/2018)
Well this adventure catches me off guard right from the start since the last book ended with Holmes possesd by Moriaty in control of his body. We where left wondering what would happen next only to show up a month after that with Holmes apparently dead !

It gets more interesting when you find out how. Of course our main character is back, and his assistant Warlock eventually too. We soon find them in a new series of adventures some involving Walrocks own history. Again a bunch of different mostly unrelated stories with a few more world building ones. As enjoyable and maybe a little better than the first book.
I really love this series. by Eric (Posted on 1/24/2018)
The voice acting is exceptional. The Watson and Holmes characters have a wonderful banter...reminds me of some of the old Fry and Laurie or Monty Python...although, not quite as absurd. And, the author does keep the moody, introspective moments to a minimum (unlike some other GA titles).

Overall, I enjoyed the listen. And, in this time when GA titles are getting pricier for shorter content, I was pleased that I got a solid 8 hours of entertainment out of this one.

Highly Recommended.
WOW by Amy (Posted on 10/24/2017)
I am absolutely in awe! This volume of Warlock and Watson's story wowed me to the core. I adored every story, every character moment. I also loved that moment of Warlock's backstory. It gutted me, in the best way possible. Of course, the actors were superb. Scott McCormick and Eric Messner carried this story so, so well.

The wait for My Grave Ritual is going to be excruciating.

this was one of those books that were just ok. It has some good parts and ok parts but nothing that made you say wow.
love it by Michael (Posted on 10/9/2017)
When I started this series, I liked it. Quirky, unique are two words I would use to describe it.

The second outing is just as good as the first. There are sections that will make you laugh out loud, and some that I find sobering.

Though a word of advice to the GA folks. I'm Canadian, and Henry Baskerville's accent was WAY out in left field (smile).

Other than that, a very good choice for a time killing, enjoyable read!
