Ages 18+
Near what was once the Pacific northwest, Ryan Cawdor and his roving band of post-holocaust survivors discover a beautiful valley untouched by the nuclear blast that changed the earth forever.

Resisting the temptation to settle in that idyllic land, the group is captured and forced deep beneath an extinct volcano to an isolated community of in-bred scientists.

These psychopathic descendants of a twentieth-century government research team are blindy laboring to find better ways of genocide, unaware that the world they are striving to slaughter has already died.

In a frantic race to stop this bizarre society from testing its horrific weapons, Ryan realizes that if he fails an already nuke-scorched Earth faces another Armageddon.

In the Deathlands the past and the future are clashing with frightening force.

Movie in your mind, but mind your movies. by Kevin O'D (Posted on 11/5/2016)
Wow! It was a great story, but I couldnt help to think it wasted an opportunity to use Crater lake as a base to refuel or run back to to heal up and discover/develop/exploit all the science there! Still the main characters are developed well, and we learn something new each installment.

Deathlands 04 - Crater lake by Grant (Posted on 6/10/2015)
Interesting turn and interesting redoubt. The inhabitants are some of the strangest yet.
Worst part- the loss of one of the main characters.

Terrific, but.... by James (Posted on 3/27/2015)
This book was terrific but I hated losing Finn! Especially so very early early in the series! This is only #4, #5 if you start with #0, which is what I STRONGLY would his suggest!
Slickman The Man by Larry (Posted on 2/11/2015)
Now on this book you get to see how the scientist have turn mad in trying to turn deathlands back into the way it was befour shydark
DeathLands Crater Lake by Dorothy (Posted on 2/9/2015)
Can't say enough good things about this series. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Enjoying this from the beginning. Even out of order they are great. But in order you at least know where everyone goes or when they join the group. Driving time doesn't seem so long when listening to these.
Deathlands 4 Crater Lake by Jonathon (Posted on 9/18/2014)
Not my favorite story but it is really well written and is an important part of the series. It gives you a great perspective of how messed up the world has become! It shapes the group a little more. It also provides important information about certain characters.
Crater Lake by Mudbug (Posted on 7/30/2014)
This one hit close to home for me, being in the Military and loosing a brother in arm during combat brought back memories. How ever each story in the series is well executed and so real to life with the sound effects you almost feel your a part of the story. I just cant say enough about this series. Just keep em' coming
deathlands4 by curtis (Posted on 7/9/2014)
what a twist to lose finn i will miss his personality colorful as it was
A Look Back and Upside Down by Vann (Posted on 7/7/2014)
Two stories in one. The first has the team pitted against an odd and twisted ville, and then they fall into the hands of a group of scientists who have a villianous sense of loyalty, bordering on a religion. The first plot line is typical DL with all the action and cliff hangers you expect. The second story line is a wonderful feeder for additional information regarding the historical line of the DL series. Not as action pact but well executed.
Good story line by Sarah (Posted on 6/12/2014)
I love the story line and the things you find out about dock are, well, impressive. I won't say anymore. You have to read the book.
Deathlands Crater Lake by Steven (Posted on 6/6/2014)
I love this story. Crazy whitecoats not satisfied with WW III continue their insane research to exterminate all life on earth.
Crater Lake by Luc (Posted on 5/11/2014)
It's great how Mr Axler uses actual places. Crater Lake looks awesome on google maps.
Review by Patrick Gleason (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Above all a great story, except if you like Finn. That's the only part that stinks about it.
Review by Vikki Sorel (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Nanette Savard makes this production as the villainess. Great production, good story.
Review by Chris Nardone (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Crater Lake was an excellent read, and the adaptation was no different. I still remember vividly when I read the scene of the stoning, and GA brought that to pulse-pounding life. Will dearly miss Finn...he had such a colorful vocabulary!
