9 : Red Equinox

by James Axler
Mar 1, 2006
7 Hours
Ages 18+
Three generations after nuclear blasts all but vaporized the Earth, a group of warrior survivalists led by a charismatic man named Ryan Cawdor roam the hostile environment called Deathlands.

Their quest becomes a grim struggle for survival as they search for a better life beyond the nuke-ravaged cities. And it is one such harrowing journey that brings them to the heart of Moscow.

Beneath a mantle of chemical clouds an strontium snow, the former jewel in Russia''s crown is teeming with a bizarre mix of mutated beings and old enemies all intent on killing Ryan and his band of post-holocaust survivors.

A new dark age has dawned with the hope of a promised land. But in the Deathlands, hope is not enough.

Zimyanin! by Chris (Posted on 9/22/2017)
Such a great bad guy. Nice to see him take on the crew on his own turf.
A bit too intense for me. by Peyton (Posted on 9/6/2017)
This one was hard to finish. GraphicAudio did their usual great job of bringing the story to life. The writing was tight and fast paced as usual.

Between the kids getting killed and the terminaly ill party member, Deathlands 9 will rip your heart out. I get that the kids were murderous monsters and that bad things are supposed to happen to people in the Deathlands. It just all hit a little too close to home.
Review by Christopher (Posted on 7/14/2017)
While still a good listen. I did feel sort of bad for the Russian people in this novel, who were minding their own business, and Ryan Carter and company come to town. Still recommended.

Deathlands 9- Red Equinox by Grant (Posted on 6/15/2015)
A new spin to the stories. This installment is set in the post dark Soviet Union. A cliff hanger with less than the usual amount of muties or other deathland regulars.
Biggest issue is that each time Kristy spoke the audio had a different sound to it- kind of a hiss. Worth a listen, but not my favorite.
Slickman The Man by Larry (Posted on 2/16/2015)
now this book keeps you paying attention thru out the whole book and with is taking place in Russia brings on a different twist on what death lands is like over there
Deatlands Red Equinox by Steven (Posted on 6/6/2014)
Trapped in Russia with a broken Mat Trans. Can it be fixed, tools be found before they are tracked down by old nemesis Ziimyanin
Good Story, But... by Vann (Posted on 3/5/2014)
The story was well played and laid out. The twist at the end was a real cliff hanger. There is a serious issue with the audio though. Each time Kristy spoke, the audio had a heavy static sound behind it and it sounded like she was in a small box. This left the quality rating very poor and took away from the overall effect of the "movie in your mind". I would give the story a 5 and the audio a 2. Based on past experiences with Graphic Audio, I expect much better quality. Still, the story was top notch and it is still worth the listen.
Review by Leif Kehrein (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Excellent! This was better than some of the previous ones. I still dont get how any of them would know anything about America or Russia in the past but still a great listen.
Review by Paul Deffes (Posted on 5/23/2013)
It was awesome. @Leif - Ryan says on different occasions that he has seen "old vids" and such in various redoubts. Seems convenient though.
