100 : Prodigal's Return

by James Axler
Dec 1, 2011
5 Hours
Ages 18+
America, defiled and reshaped by nuclear carnage, promises little but a struggle for survival. Still, a group of hard travelers trek the worst this hellish place can offer, surviving by their wits, razor skill and knowledge of preDark technology. Their leader, Ryan Cawdor, is a Deathlands legend, a warrior and hero to many, a relentless enemy to more. And he understands the only way forward is the future, even when the past has a will of its own...

Searching for an operational redoubt, Ryan and his companions go up against a ruthless band of coldhearts. The shock of seeing Ryan''s long-lost son as the band''s point man puts the group on a new mission-rescue Dean at all cost. But when Dean shoots and wounds his father in a firefight, the strange turn of events leads the travelers deeper into the shifting sands of their own destiny. And father and son, each committed to the laws of decency and fair play, will confront an uncertain legacy.

NICE THEY BRING DEAN BACK by David (Posted on 2/17/2018)
the story is ok good to see ryan gets to see his son again but has a odd ending with his son sort of sad in away. but when your in the deathlands things can happen to get family mad at each other. you will half to listen to the book to see what happens.
No spoilers review by Chris (Posted on 11/23/2017)
Favorite quote from this one:
Ryan-"...but he's just a kid!"
Jack-"He's older than I was when I buried my wife and daughter, he not a kid no more."

I liked this one, a stepping stone that allows Dean to grow up. They did the same with Jack when he left the group for several episodes, then he's back and suddenly he's older; if not physically then mentally. Really shows the difference between Dean and his father as far as emotional attachments toward other people. There were definitely bigger more epic stories in previous books but this one was definitely a good listen, especiallly if you've been following the series and are excited for progression in the story line
Great story twisted ending by brian (Posted on 9/17/2016)
I am glad dean returned for the 100th adventure, the ending will get you for sure.
Prodigal's return by Joseph (Posted on 9/6/2016)
Excellent addition to the Deathlands series!
Definitely on the edge of your seat book!
HOT PIPE DAD? NOT by DAVID (Posted on 4/13/2016)
Dean is grown and no more "Can I open the door Dad". What we sometimes got irritated about we missed. Crushing turn of events toward the end. I set in the parking lot thinking WTF. Would be a good story line for one of the more gifted authors to follow up on.
Dean is back by Larry (Posted on 9/19/2015)
This was a good book but i do think it could of been alot better but i am hopping the writer will do a follow up with another book basing off of this one the way Dean and Ryan parted was so not like the Groups/Family way

Imma red shirt! by Jarod (Posted on 7/3/2014)
This is always a product I bring up when I try to sell somebody on GA. And it isn't because I'm in it screaming Blue Thunder! The story is good, it marks a significant point in the series.

Review by Gabriel Harris (Posted on 5/23/2013)
Graphic Audio was amazing as usual. Can't say much for Golden Eagle for letting such a junk story pass for 100th edition. Big time disappointment...
Review by James Yeatts (Posted on 5/23/2013)
As always simply terrific! I can't wait for the next 100+!
