116 : End Program

by James Axler

Ages 18+
No one waits long for trouble in Deathlands—it's everywhere in the remains of a nuke-altered civilization. The American dream was annihilated more than a century ago by the country's own unchecked power play. But the worst may be yet to come.

Built upon a predark military installation in former California, a ville called Progress could be the utopia Ryan Cawdor and his companions have been seeking. A place where humanity and technology thrive, it's the nucleus of a new hope for Deathlands. The successful replacement of Ryan's missing eye with a cybernetic prosthetic nearly convinces the group that their days of surviving hell are behind them. Then they discover that the high tech in Progress isn't designed to enhance human life, but to destroy it. To block the final assault, the companions must stop Ryan from becoming a willing pawn in the eradication of mankind.

The beginning by JB (Posted on 7/31/2015)
This was the series that started me listening to this series from the beginning ( 0 ). Even though I jumped more ahead starting with this one. It's wasn't hard to grasp the story line by listening forward some. Though some series are continued to another story, many are Mat-Trans jumps into another location. I have really enjoyed these series, though the language gets a little hard from time to time, but the story line gets you past it and carries you on. It has truly helped me pass the time when I'm spending more than 10 hours a day, 6 days a week behind the wheel. It's makes passing many States more bearable.
Ryan gets his eye back by Larry (Posted on 3/13/2015)

End program by Jakob (Posted on 10/29/2014)
This book was ok but not great, it was very predictable but then again most of the deathland books are. I think the story could of gone a different route and it seemed like the ending was "rushed" to finish.
Deathlands #116 End Program by Steven (Posted on 10/17/2014)
Excellent story. Arriving half dead & seriously injured after a nearly fatal Mat Tran's jump in Progress, Ca., they are rescued and treated. Ryan's injuries were catastrophic, but he is not only healed but given a new eye, high tech in every way and is coping with sight from two eyes, one eye even better than before. Wonderful people, no debt owed, and yet there is always a fly in the ointment. The group eventually realizes that Progress has a hidden agenda and maybe healing humanity is not their ultimate goal.

Kind of predictable about the end of things the camera eye was different to bad it was evil it could of made the the changing of characters for the next book rather than the same old
Great Series by Marc (Posted on 9/1/2014)

Deathlands 116 : End Program by robert (Posted on 7/23/2014)
Good and bad in this one. Unique story (which is good considering they're up to 116), some contrived parts, to serve the story line (why in the beginning are they taken by surprise by a mutie plant, but later in the story, Kristy can suddently feel a crop field in pain because due to the Gaia power, she's in touch with plant life, Ryan gets real out of character given something done to him, and miraculously recovers from a major surgery towards the end of the story and is able to fight immediately, the ending bad-guys were also a let-down). It was a really good concept, which went a little rough in a few spots. Graphic audio treatment was awesome as usual.. It's worth a listen, and is a solid 3 headphone book, but could have been better given ironing out a few parts of the story

116 End Program by Anthony (Posted on 7/2/2014)
I have every story in the Deathlands series, and am always anxious for the next release. This was no exception, as it provides its usual balance of history and future, and really provides a great view into the lives of the Deathlands crew. I agree with the others, in that when the story reaches the end, I am left wishing it was longer. That is not a negative aspect, as I believe it shows that the reader is enjoying it so much, we don't want it to be over. I will be waiting anxiously for Deathlands 117 ...... Please hurry Mr. Axler!!
Really Good Listen by John (Posted on 7/1/2014)

Desathlands #116 End Program by Steven (Posted on 7/1/2014)
A ville in Calif. called Progress. Progress and a rebuilding of hope for humanity. Even the restoration of Ryan's long missing eye as a miracle which had not even been a dream and was now a reality. But everything has a price and life can become a human chess board. Progress promises hope for mankind bur is their plan to rebuild society, once again a warped twisted dream and nightmare. Can a grateful but seduced Ryan & friends see through the lies and see the truth.
