by James Axler
Sep 23, 2015
5 Hours
Ages 18+
Since the nukecaust, the American dream has been reduced to a daily fight for survival. In the hellish landscape of Deathlands, few dare to dream of a better tomorrow. But Ryan Cawdor and his companions press on, driven by the need for a future less treacherous than the present.

Pulling sec duty aboard a steamboat on the mighty Sippi is a welcome reprieve for Ryan and his friends…until armored warships reduce their vessel to a burning husk. Abruptly stranded in a nightmarish, poisonous swamp, fighting off crocodiles and muties, the companions and their crew of allies get to work building rafts. Their escape route, however, is swiftly intercepted, and they learn they've sailed into the middle of a fierce conflict between two villes fighting over the iron trade. The companions don't seem to stand a chance against the fleets of ironclad gunboats. But in Deathlands, even the underdog can bite back…

Iron Rage by Daniel (Posted on 4/14/2018)
Blew my mind w/ the captain being portrayed like she was going to be a huge role and then well .... Good episode has a bit of everything character related and well written.
ok could of been better by David (Posted on 4/2/2018)
if ya like the books in deathlands about being on a boat you may like this one but there are better deathlands books were they are at sea ect on a boat. this one here the gang helps a group of people that are caught in a turf war and Ryan gets daring at one point were he jumps over to the enemies boat and that is were it gets interesting as Ryan uses his smarts to get them to think he if helping them out but ends up returning to his gang by escaping the enemy.and they go out and fight in the turf war lot of bangs ect at this part.

I've listened to this particular volume at least 5 times now. It's action packed and super entertaining. One of my favorites
pretty good one by robert Hir (Posted on 5/27/2016)
Graphic audio treatment of this story, stellar as usual. Story in this one was a turn-around from the last two stories (which either weren't so good, or really missed on opportunities to shine). The author went a little over-board in the beginning with killing off the ship captain (she shouldn't have come around from the first injury, then the multiple croc attacks were overkill even for deathlands), but after that, the story went in a number of good directions. The boating aspects to the story were very believeable, and good, the various characters well fleshed out, the action sequences good, and everything was pretty much believable. Fair amount of Jak in this one too, which is always a good thing.

Battling at Sea! by Laura (Posted on 3/7/2016)
I enjoyed this seafaring battle-strewn Deathlands adventure with fast-pased naval warfare action scenes and our fav survivalist companions going up against all odds, facing a myriad of mutie and other hostile risks and using their wits and fighting prowess to come out on top!
I'll give it five by Kelly (Posted on 10/13/2015)
I have enjoyed the entire series and with very few exceptions I like all of them. This one was fast paced action packed and as always the GA crew was excellent. If you drive for a living this one will make the miles go by before you know it.

Deathlands #123 Iron Rage by Steven (Posted on 9/29/2015)
Excellent story. The companions are once again doing Sec work for supplies and transportation. However, they are unwittingly drawn into a long standing conflict between two opposing fleets of iron clad warships. Their ship wrecked and stranded in a poisonous radioactive swamp with stickies, crocodiles and everything hostile trying to eat or kill them and the longer they stay the horrible slow death of Rad poisoning hangs over their heads. Ryan and company must use every skill and trick to turn the tide and escape before time runs out. The Ironclad battles give a nice Civil War twist and flavor to the story with echoes of a bygone era of naval warfare.
