13 : Seedling

America''s post-holocaust nightmare continues as Ryan Cawdor returns to the monstrous urban slum that was once New York City... and discovers a piece of the future...

As the roaming band of survivors seek desperately to escape the eerie wastes and mutated life-forms of their nuclear hell, they emerge from a gateway back into the ruins of Manhatten-the concrete battlefield where Ryan had avenged the death of his father and older brother.

The city is a flooded hellzone ruled by street gangs and hordes of reptilian mutants who inhabit the sewers. Under this urban ruin lives the self-styled King of the Underground, presiding over his subterranean fortress filled with prenuke memorabilia. And here, in this once great metropolis, lives a ten-year-old boy. He is Ryan Cawdor''s son...

The children shall inherit the Earth.

Great addition to the series. As always the GA production bring the characters and the story alive. Ryan finding his son was a highlight.

How far will Ryan go to find the boy who is possibly his son, will members of the group survive the threats that become present along the way?
Pretty good by Jim (Posted on 12/4/2017)
I've listened to or read several of the Deathlands books over the years. This one is pretty good. I'm not crazy about the addition of Ryan's son to the crew, if only because it seems like the series jumped the shark, so to speak. But, we'll see how it goes.

As always, the GA production is top notch.

Deathlands 13 Seedling by Grant (Posted on 1/27/2016)
Good development and backstory of the character and the new addition to the team. Not my favorite of the series- but definitely worth listening to.
I want more... by William (Posted on 3/7/2015)
As a truck driver, this has to be one of the best ways to pass the time. Definitely leaves you on the edge of your seat and hungry for more!
Slickman The Man by Larry (Posted on 12/9/2014)
This was the book that got me hooked on this series it not the best book of the series but it is a good book
Story 11...Part 2 by Vann (Posted on 10/2/2014)
The answer to the questions left hanging in book 11 come to life in this great plot. Mildred had to step up and do the unthinkable, but as a physician she couldn't allow herself to do any less. Also, another character has been added to the group of gateway jumpers. With lots of sub-plots and a great job by the voice actors, you will be on the edge of your seat.
Seedling by Jonathon (Posted on 9/18/2014)
This is a great story and a very important part of the series! Ryan finds out he has a son and goes to great lengths to find him. It sheds light on a lot of things that have shaped the group.
Deathlands Seedling by Steven (Posted on 6/6/2014)
Nuke ravaged Manhatten, A dying woman tells Ryan of the son he never new about. A desperate search and near misses to find him somewhere in NYC.
Seedling by John Marshall (Posted on 3/13/2014)
I am a Dean fan and think he adds a lot to every story. The characters the group met were well done.
Deathlands by John (Posted on 2/27/2014)
My favorite series!
Review by Chris Nardone (Posted on 5/23/2013)
An engrossing plot forshadowed a few titles back where Ryan finds he has a son, while the group comes across scalies in New York. Good action, along with J.B's icky illness made this a solid effort.
