Ryan Cawdor and his companions take the mat-trans gateway to territory that was known as Wisconsin in the days before America became the devastated Deathlands. They quickly find themselves in the middle of a savage battle between warring tribes of muties.

J.B. Dix takes several arrows before his team manages to extricate themselves, and, while the wounds themselves are not fatal, Dr. Mildred Wyeth worries with good reason that the arrows may have been tainted. J.B. soon shows symptoms of a deadly infection. Their best chance is a journey of several days to where there had once been a hospital when Mildred trained there a century earlier, in the desperate hope of finding the drugs that J.B. needs to survive.

When the companions make it to Mildred’s old stomping grounds, they find the hospital still standing, more or less, but it has been transformed into a twisted temple at the center of an insular ville, whose “surgeon-priests” bestow the surviving medications with arbitrary cruelty.

Deathlands 131: Freak Pharm is an original Deathlands story written specifically for GraphicAudio and is available in no other format.

Reviews

never a bad one by brian (Posted on 8/13/2018)
Another edge of your seat type of story here. This one is really good and has a great mix of characters.

This was a surprising and stunning book.
FREAK PHARM by Daniel (Posted on 4/14/2018)
The title in comparison to the actual audio book makes it seem much darker than what the story actually is. Usually one would think negatively on that statement when in relation to a deathlands episode but it actually makes it a more realistic and entertaining story.
New breed of masked criminals! by Laura (Posted on 3/20/2018)
GA delivers another gripping tale of inventively twisted post-apocalyptic reality in which the companions must face head on and somehow survive! I have a fondness for the DL episodes in which a group of leftover humanity has developed a new religion as it's always fascinating to see how people who've lost most of their history of knowledge, especially science, grapple with the unknown. This story was well-acted as always and Mildred's gutsy, compassion-led decisions re-invigorate hope that the DL may regain some sense of civilization one day! Looking forward to the next episode! <applause>

Much better then the recent books. Good sound effects, story line that didnt leave a headache with flaws and failed twists and turns. Thank you GA!

Deathlands #131 Freak Pharm by Steven (Posted on 1/15/2018)
Excellent story. Encountering another society the past & present warped into a twisted new reality. I love the way the characters I love are still interacting with the same loyalty and give & take humour with new writers continuing to write the series. Bravo. keep it up.
Another great addition to the saga by John (Posted on 1/15/2018)
Well done once again! Terrific job capturing the characters personalities. The story was great. I love the morphing of medical jargon/symbols into religion. Keep them coming!!

DEATHLANDS 131 : Freak Pharm by Robert (Posted on 1/5/2018)
This is the latest and greatest of the Deathlands story and it is a good one the gang find themselves in a hard spot and in need and of course some planning, bullets, and fighting get them though the day. if you are as die hard fan of this series you are sure to love this one too. I am grateful that they are continuing the Deathlands and Outlands titles so grab it up however you listen to GA and get ready to watch the movie in your mind....
