20 : Cold Asylum

by James Axler
Oct 1, 2006
6 Hours
Ages 18+
Generations after global annihilation, Kansas is a mutated landscape of dense, deciduous forest. Gone are the amber waves of grain, another hideous result of nuclear devastation that changed the face of the Earth forever. Now it''s survival of the freakish.

Following rumors that might lead them to the long-lost Trader, Ryan Cawdor and his band of warrior survivalists find themselves the unwilling house guests of the wealthiest barons in all of Deathlands. At Baron Mandeville''s opulent homestead, a glittering ornate fortress called Sun Crest, a secret and perverted game continues: gladiator contests among the guests. The winners get to play the ultimate life-and-death game-a hunt in which they are the quarry.

Hope died in the Deathlands, but the will to live goes on.

Another good addition to the story. The beginning was a little strange espically if you never listened to this series before. So not one I would start the series off with, but other then that Good Deathlands.
Trader is featured by brian (Posted on 11/5/2017)
This one drags a bit, but I love trader and any story with him in it is great.
Trader by nicole (Posted on 11/8/2016)
The allusive Trader is a chacter in him self. Always so interesting to hear more about him as they search for their lost companion.

Nice, Not Nice by Vann (Posted on 2/25/2015)
At their normal pace, Ryan and his group find themselves not at the hands of an evil baron, but at the hands of the baron's evil daughter. Ryan proves that all the years of learning from the Trader weren't for naught. Able to out think and even out pace the evil, they end up bringing the death and destruction that they are becoming known for on yet another 'ville. Never cross them.
Slickman The Man by Larry (Posted on 2/16/2015)
there are a lot of books that are good to have in the death land sires and this is one of them
Deasthlands Cold Asylum by Steven (Posted on 6/9/2014)
All the companions are scattered to different gateways when a serious malfunction is caused buy a tidal wave in Florida. Against all odds reunited at one redoubt which turns out to be one massive Mortuary, Ryan & friends end up being hunted for sport for a barons pleasure.
Deathlands Cold asylum by Zac (Posted on 3/3/2014)
I love these books!! They say that you can listen to most all of these books as a stand alone, but I disagree. You really need to listen to all these books to get the full feel of the plot and to catch the little nuisances that one would miss other wise. Other than that I love all these books, and this one is no exception. I will listen to more!

Disclaimer, you will have to like the Post-Apocalyptic genre if you are going to enjoy any of these Deathland audio books. Although each release is designed to stand on its own, it will help to have listened to some of the previous releases, especially the first two: Encounter and Pilgrimage to Hell. This one basically concludes the previous release, bringing all the main characters back together. Although not the best one, it was entertaining and offered a interesting plot. I think this one further develops their newest companion, Micheal Brother, and you see more of his hand-to-hand combat capabilities.
