64 : Bloodfire

Life in twenty-second-century America is an odyssey of pain and death. Savagely transformed by atomic fallout, what remains of humanity endures an internecine war against those who thrive on chaos and bloodshed. A legend in a violent land, Ryan Cawdor lives and fights by his own rules as he and his companions traverse the grim world of Deathlands. For as long as the future remains out of reach, survival means living long enough to face a new day.

Hearing a rumor that the Trader, his old teacher and friend, is still alive, Ryan and his warrior group struggle across the treacherous Texas desert to find the truth. But an enemy with a score to settle is in hot pursuit-and so is the elusive Trader. The preDark city of Sonora-preserved for a century in the salt and sand of the nukescape-becomes the staging ground for a showdown between mortal enemies, where the scales of revenge and death will be balanced with brutal finality.

Lost City by Vann (Posted on 1/15/2019)
Getting out of a city that is literally drowning, in the middle of the desert. The group 'finds' a long lost and buried city only to find additional troubles, long quiet, but activated by their presences. Meanwhile, above ground, two warring factions face off, and one of them is called The Trader". Can the warriors make it out? Is this the long lost Trader, left to defend himself on a beach in California? Will the machines win? Thanks to GA for helping us remain firmly planted on the edge of our seats.

One of the better stories. Just wish the band could catch a break and been able to exploit the city. Wish there would have been a whole book on just the city.

Deathlands #64 Bloodfire by Steven (Posted on 6/11/2014)
Great book, first of a two part story. Escape from the failing redoubt, cross the desert pursued by millipedes and match wits with the Scorpion God.
Deathlands by Tracy (Posted on 5/11/2014)

Review by Anderson Morris (Posted on 5/23/2013)
This one is what the Deathlands seris is all about, sans a decent Redout. Good action, great bad guy, and some cool new allies.

A very good DL, and a climactic ending to a great two part series.
