The note from her friend and colleague had read "I have quite the monster for you to chase, dear Annja." And then before she could speak to him, he'd been found dead in the hotel's stairwell. It didn't seemed possible. Annja Creed had been looking forward to three days of geeking out at the archaeology conference in Madison, Wisconsin, and then this tragedy strikes. And his is only the first death over the long weekend.

Determined to investigate her friend's death—and find out why another colleague she trusts is arrested as the prime suspect—Annja starts gathering the pieces of a cryptic puzzle. A small collection of Mayan gold medallions. The death of a potter. The violent appearance of a teenaged girl with a strange green knife. And at the center of the puzzle, an ancient mound pyramid purportedly hidden at the bottom of a Wisconsin lake. That's a discovery that could completely rewrite Mesoamerican history.

With each puzzle piece Annja Creed discovers, the mystery grows more dangerous. And what she knows can—and probably will—kill her.

Sunken Pyramid by Bonnie (Posted on 12/28/2017)
Great story! There seemed like two mysteries going on but this made it very interesting. Roux also adds to the plot. Love it!
Odd mystery by Daniel (Posted on 10/24/2016)
This is an okay one. I would have liked to have heard more of the convention and some of odd history stuff. I feel like someone was in a "Murder She Wrote " kind of mood. It seems to have the kind of rhythm and feel to the story.

There are 2 stories that are happening near each other but they have nothing to do with each other in the end. I kept thinking everything would come together and it would be the big who don it but it does not end that way at all. Not to say its bad just kind of odd. I feel like most of the ones where Annja is only one place and doesn't have any unique history or wondrous adventure it feels kind of half baked.

Now this to rate the story, the production is great, beautiful voice acting and all.

It was hard to understand the characters when they were reading or thinking, but other than that this was a great listen!
Sunken Pyramid by Beverley (Posted on 9/22/2014)
Another great book and once again fast paced. And as always, there is a mystery as well as some dithering by Doug Morrell. I really like Roux....he is a crafty old man.
Quite The Mystery by Wayne (Posted on 9/22/2014)
This one is quite the mystery. You don't know altogether what its about until the end. The pyramid almost seemed like it was a by story and all the rest of the things that were happening was the story.
Mayans who knew by Tina (Posted on 7/11/2014)
I really love this series. The interaction between Annja and the other charaters in this story are great as always.
Sunken pyramid by robert (Posted on 6/11/2014)
Very good but I wish the pyramid was a little more of the book with more returns to the pyramid and new discovers they had to drag out how she found it but the pyramid held more mystery
Mayans in Wisconsin? by Joseph Baneth Allen (Posted on 4/6/2014)
Just finished listening to "Rouge Angel #45 - Sunken Pyramid" released by GraphicAudio.
Such a wholesome place like Madison, Wisconsin was the last place Annja Creed expected to be chasing a monster.
She had arrived in town to attend an archelogical conference when an old friend sends her a note, informing her that he has quite the monster for her to chase. She was expecting to catch up over a nice dinner, not mourning his death and trying to put the fragmented pieces of a deadly puzzle together as more archelogists drop like flies, and a mysterious knife wielding girl tries to kill her.
Were there Mayans in Wisconsin in prehistory? It's a mystery that hold's death, maybe finally Annja's if she keeps pursuing the puzzle instead of getting out of town while she still can.
Mom and Dad were avid fans of the Rouge Angel series, and they woudl have enjoyed this latest Annja Creed adventure.
Highly Recommended!
Five Stars!
Rogue Angel is the best by timothy (Posted on 2/22/2014)
I really LOVE this book series. I have most of the 45 releases that have been in truck stops like Pilot Travel, Flying J, TA, and Loves. every time I fuel and use the restroom I grab something to drink and before I get something to eat I go to the stand and search through books to spot the next edition to add to my collection.
Annja Creed would be like Indiana Jones and Lauria Croft's love child.
