Brandon Sanderson, fantasy's newest master tale spinner, author of the acclaimed debut Elantris, dares to turn a genre on its head by asking a simple question: What if the hero of prophecy fails? What kind of world results when the Dark Lord is in charge? The answer will be found in the Mistborn Trilogy, a saga of surprises and magical martial-arts action that begins in Mistborn.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison. Kelsier "snapped" and found in himself the powers of a Mistborn. A brilliant thief and natural leader, he turned his talents to the ultimate caper, with the Lord Ruler himself as the mark.

Kelsier recruited the underworld's elite, the smartest and most trustworthy allomancers, each of whom shares one of his many powers, and all of whom relish a high-stakes challenge. Only then does he reveal his ultimate dream, not just the greatest heist in history, but the downfall of the divine despot.

But even with the best criminal crew ever assembled, Kel's plan looks more like the ultimate long shot, until luck brings a ragged girl named Vin into his life. Like him, she's a half-Skaa orphan, but she's lived a much harsher life. Vin has learned to expect betrayal from everyone she meets, and gotten it. She will have to learn to trust, if Kel is to help her master powers of which she never dreamed.

Great Story and Great Production by Tyler (Posted on 2/6/2019)
Very satisfying ending! The acting and production quality are still great. I can't believe it ended the way it did but it was satisfying nonetheless. I can't wait to start the second book in the series.
Excellent conclusion. Looking forward to the Well! by William (Posted on 12/26/2018)
A solid, intense, and emotional conclusion to the first story of the Mistborn trilogy. I’ve listened to a lot of stuff from Graphic Audio and this might be my favorite production by them so far! Can’t wait to listen to The Well of Ascension after I finish 2 other audiobooks!
Absolutely Great by Jason (Posted on 8/26/2018)
So the story of the first book comes to a close and ends very nice and cleanly. It ends with you knowing that there is more to the story without being a real cliffhanger. If the story had ended here you would have been left satisfied but definitely wanting more. Another great battle scene that is particularly memorable and show how good one of the many characters were because he really cuts loose. The performance was great (voice acting, sound effects, and music)
Very good. by tyler (Posted on 8/8/2018)
Mistborn is one of the best series I have ever read. This is not only the way you make a hero but a good female hero. The magic system is awesome and very believable. I have listened to the whole series. Keep it up.
Stunning by Dee (Posted on 8/8/2018)
First off, well done on GraphicAudio. You guys managed to bring life to this story with the beautiful voices and sounds. This is probably going better than any movie attempt on Hollywood's behalf. The visuals portrayed by the story, voices, and effects were descriptive and phenomenal. Mistborn was a spectacular ride. It's action-packed, full of mystery, lore, and epic world-building. The ending truly caught me by surprise. This was definitely a heist to end all heists.

Really liked it by Mohammad (Posted on 7/6/2018)
A friend of mine has told me that I'll enjoy the final empire because he knows I will :).

I've listened to the hole book and it was really really good, I am listening to the second one right now.
Very intense by Ryan (Posted on 6/1/2018)
The performances, the music and sound effects does produce that movie in your mind feel. Very much worth getting the rest of the series as it is a cool experience.
Mistborn: The First Book by Shaheen (Posted on 4/5/2018)
Full Disclosure, I tried to read this book several times and never finished it. I was never sure why? I appreciated the characters, was absorbed by the plot, and yet...it never seemed to keep my attention. After finishing the Graphic Audio adaption of Words of Radiance, also by Sanderson, I decided to give the GA version a try. Boy, was I not disappointed. The sound effects, the music choices and the voice actor performances were all top notch. The melding together of all these wonderful parts created an experience that really brought me into this world. Well worth the price. Now...on to The Well of Ascension!
Need More by Kelly (Posted on 2/18/2018)
Absolutely continuing the series, thought they tied up the loose ends nicely while setting the groundwork for future installments. A novel I'll never regret listening to.
Final battle by Steven (Posted on 8/14/2016)
The final battle is awesome to listen to!
An action packed conclusion to the opening book of the Mistborn Saga by Amy (Posted on 8/8/2016)
Wooow. This whole production is fantastic. The entire first book was adapted so beautifully. This third part was so action packed, my head nearly spun. I cannot wait to continue the series.
Third and last, so far, purchase of GA title by Raymond (Posted on 7/21/2016)
This is a great series from a very talented writer, loved it.
Also see my review of part 1!!

only cons: is disk 5 of 7 didn't want to work in my car, and I was traveling on Saturday. When GA got my support request Monday they were very quick to work with me to get a replacement. I happen to have a computer laptop with me and tried the disk there and was able to listen to disk 5 then go back to the car CD player for the last 2 disks.
I'm new to GA so I'm considering purchase of more, but they are quite expensive when a book is 3-5 parts at $20/part, and purchasing a complete set when you have already purchased one 3 part ($60) book is not something I can do with my finances. If they let me have the discount for the rest of the set since I already have the first book I might do that.
So far their service and support people have been very nice, although only communicated in emails.
Surprisingly Enjoyable by Cassiopeia (Posted on 5/5/2016)
Out of all of Brandon Sanderson's books, the Mistborn Series are the only ones I haven't actually read. Oddly enough, I never got into the first one and, having not read book one I could hardly move on to any of the others. GraphicAudio, however, made it both easy and enjoyable for me to delve into the world of Mists and Metal. I loved the voices chosen for the characters and I found Eland particularly adorable in his sweet, idiotically idealistic way. Vin was also well acted though, personally, I didn't care much for her character. Still, this was a well done adaptation, in so far as I haven't read the books at least, and I'm actually quite eager to finish a series I had not before held much interest in.
Shocking!! by William (Posted on 3/14/2016)
The end of the first book is touching, daring, and memorable to say the least. It does excellent work with setting the ground work for the rest of the series and there are parts you will never forget!!
Fantastic! by Paul (Posted on 2/24/2016)

Mistborn 3of3 by Lionel (Posted on 5/19/2015)
Well, since I've read the book, I knew what was coming, and I think I was saddened even more by the events in this part, even more than the book!
Epic performance again.
Now I have to buy the rest of the series from Graphic Audio!
Awesome by Helgi Gunnar (Posted on 5/6/2015)
Leaves me wanting more.
Audio Drama Reviews: Mistborn The Final Empire (Part 3 of 3) by Michael (Posted on 5/3/2015)
I remember being unsatisfied by the ending of Mistborn: The Final Empire when reading the book/listening to the audiobook. I thought the way the protagonist killed the bad guy was lukewarm. It wasn't until reading the author's annotations on his site that the ending suddenly received weight in terms of its resonance. Needless to say, I went into this 3 part audio drama/audiobook hybrid knowing what to expect in terms of the beats. Graphic Audio did a fantastic job of making the book come to life to another part of my imagination and brain.

It goes without saying that reading and listening to an audio drama both depend on the individual's imagination more than the visual mediums like television and film. It's why the idea of a combination is so kick-ass. I said in the review of part one that I found the narration annoying. I tolerated it in part two, coming to expect long passages of the narrator just describing the setting and the characters acting or reacting within it. By the end of the book, it was barely noticeable.

The "real plan" reveal, when I first read it did not have much emotional weight. The actors and actresses performances of the scene after this plot twist occurs was outstanding. I was on the verge of tears at the actresses' of Vin response. Sometimes experiencing the story in a different light is all one needs to truly understand it.

5/5 stars
Still great by Mel (Posted on 2/9/2015)
This series continues to build a movie in my mind - literally.
great way to experience one of my favorite books by sam (Posted on 1/18/2015)
The performances, the music and sound effects does give that movie in your mind feel. How ever I'm still a bit partial to Micheal Kramer's reading. Don't think the actor reading Spook's role gets it, not a big deal though. Still worth getting there rest of the series
spoiler alert by wolfe (Posted on 10/28/2014)
I hate it when hero's die. That is all
Outstanding! And some sad parts... by Armand (Posted on 10/9/2014)
Well, if you are following this series, one grows emotionally attached to some characters, there are some sad parts, but the story goes forward!

Exceptional concept; the whole premise. storyline. settings, sound effects, acting, and narration... all top performances. One has to admire the skill of the voice actors and sound effects. I listened to all three parts again as prelude to the second set!

Another piece of perfection for Graphic Audio and Sanderson!
Epic by Travis (Posted on 8/16/2014)
The job GA did with some of the big moments in that last part were brilliant. I got goosebumps listening to the combination of music, sound effects, and the wonderful voice acting.
So much heart! by Amber (Posted on 4/6/2014)
When I bought the first part of the book, I hadn't expected to fall in love with so many fictional characters! But I love this story to bits! I laughed when the characters teased each other, I felt sad when they lost. I scooped up the second part when I saw it and searched every shelf thoroughly for the third part and nabbed it as soon as it came out. And other drivers have mentioned how good they thought it was! It's a rare story that draws you in, makes you feel like you're part of the crew and where there's suspense, laughter and adventure that you really feeeel! And Graphic Audio brings it all to life with superb sound and voice cast! I can't wait for the next book!
"Bloody hell!", don't miss this one! (Part 3 of 3) by Thomas (Posted on 3/28/2014)
