2 : The Well of Ascension (1 of 3)

by Brandon Sanderson
Aug 1, 2014
8 Hours
Ages 13+
Evil has been defeated. The war has just begun.

They did the impossible, deposing the godlike being whose brutal rule had lasted a thousand years. Now Vin, the street urchin who has grown into the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and Elend Venture, the idealistic young nobleman who loves her, must build a healthy new society in the ashes of an empire.

They have barely begun when three separate armies attack. As the siege tightens, an ancient legend seems to offer a glimmer of hope. But even if it really exists, no one knows where to find the Well of Ascension or what manner of power it bestows.

It may just be that killing the Lord Ruler was the easy part. Surviving the aftermath of his fall is going to be the real challenge.

Yes! by Tyler (Posted on 2/6/2019)
I'm so glad all of the actors are the same for this one. Great voice acting and production as always from Graphic Audio. The story takes place a year after the end of The Final Empire and things are going so well for the crew and the new government. All the characters are settling in and still dealing with the losses they suffered from the last book.

My one complaint are the kissing sounds. They just sound silly and I could do without them but maybe it doesn't bother others. I hate to take off one star because it was such a minor part. So, my rating would be more like 4.9!
Another solid story by William (Posted on 1/24/2019)
Love The Final Empire. Currently loving the Well of Ascension!
Absolutely Great by Jason (Posted on 8/26/2018)
The second book starts off with a bang with a really nice little battle scene as opposed to the first book that took it's time getting going. The books aren't really high octane action books but does have really good action scenes and is not devoid of action. It's a decent balance. The second book starts with more politics but is done very well and not boring. The world also starts to expand a bit. The first book primarily took place in one city and it still does really in this book but other cities and rulers start coming into play and to the city to gain power. The performance was great (voice acting, sound effects, and music)
Great by Dee (Posted on 8/8/2018)
For some reason, this was my favorite book in the whole series. Even though it was kind of boring, it gained speed. The worldbuilding develops even further. You get an even more in-depth look at the Lord Ruler's intentions. More about who the Hero of Ages. While the other one was more of a heist this one was more of a quest mixed with political intrigue. I'm not a fan of the love triangle, but Zane was an interesting character.
A great continuation by Daniel (Posted on 8/7/2018)
I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the book! Totally worth every penny.
Stage is set by Ryan (Posted on 6/1/2018)
This opening cd perfectly sets the stage for this amazing story, the chaos that is created after the lord rulers death was predicatable, but entertaining nonetheless.
Sooo Good by Kelly (Posted on 2/27/2018)
Politics come into play more so than the previous novels but still has interestingly deeper content like getting to know OreSeur and the newest addition of the insane Zane. heading on to the next volume!
Super ! by Peter (Posted on 11/14/2017)
Such a great way to experience the world of the original Mistborn Trilogy once again. Read the books, they were great, but the graphic audio book makes it into something special. Thanks for a great experience.
Mistborn The well of Ascension by Clarence (Posted on 12/23/2016)
An incredible sequel well more of a continuation into the story of the plight of the Skaa to become free and control their own destinies.
Slow Start to a Tremendous Book by Odis (Posted on 11/21/2016)
I'll admit that the beginning of this book didn't grab me as quickly as the beginning of The Final Empire did, but the slow build is worth it once you get into the meat of the story. The scale of this story is a lot bigger, and, in some ways, so is the risk involved. There's a whole lot more on the line.
Awesome by Amy (Posted on 9/28/2016)
This is such a fantastic and exciting listening experience, the fight scenes are especially enhanced by GA.
Brilliant adaptation of a brilliant sequel by Amy (Posted on 8/21/2016)
Continuing the Epic Mistborn Reread, and it is so so good. LOVE the actors playing each role. They really do breath new life into characters I adore. The adaptation makes me listen more closely, pay more attention. I love it, and can't wait to continue.
Second book is slow by Steven (Posted on 8/14/2016)
Just a warning, there's tons of debating and this part of the series focuses more on political intrigue more that actual storyline. There are several characters that are introduced in this book that are vital for the storyline.
Intriguing But Slow by Cassiopeia (Posted on 5/5/2016)
Unlike the first book which focuses on Vin and her external relationships, this book is almost entirely internal. That makes for somewhat of an awkward verbal adaptation in some areas and yet I feel that GraphicAudio handled it very well. The only real problems I had with this section of the story had to do with the source-material, not the adaptation. I didn't like how Vin seemed to vacillate between extremes, loving Eland one moment then loving Zane the next. The inclusion of Zane in particular felt forced and in many ways unnecessary. I did, however, love the twist ending and the ominous lead-in to the next addition.
Awesome Start To Book 2 by Travis (Posted on 3/25/2016)
Mistborn is back! GA's audio production and voice acting is spot on, as always. Terence Aselford remains my favorite narrator, especially for fantasy stories like this. I'm excited to continue the adventure.
Too battle!! by William (Posted on 3/14/2016)
If you are like me and enjoy battles between armies but also enjoy your share of political intrigue then you will love this book! It sets the ground work for some amazing things!
Amazing! by Paul (Posted on 2/24/2016)
Will be buying the rest!

Excellent by Helgi Gunnar (Posted on 10/23/2015)
Though not as good as The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension is a fantastic story, and Graphic Audio makes it all the better.
Great! by Jordan (Posted on 9/30/2015)
Terence Aselford is an outstanding narrator!
Mistborn by Lionel (Posted on 9/22/2015)
Hard to top "The Final Empire", but they did with this amazing production. Great work!
A must have by Arthur (Posted on 6/7/2015)
This is a must have for any one looking for a great story.
WOW! by Brittany (Posted on 6/3/2015)
This is amazing! I love how everything is falling together. So far this series has had me on the edge of my chair!
Lord Ruler by Mel (Posted on 2/9/2015)
I can't believe the Lord Ruler is dead. They succeeded. But like Vin, the last statement of the Lord Ruler's mouth is kind of haunting - Was he really helping keep evil at bay? Or not
Wow.. Graphic Audio by Dan (Posted on 1/31/2015)

Return to the mist... by Levictus (Posted on 11/11/2014)
Story continues, as cast of characters deal with the fall of the final empire.
With the fall of government, they struggle to keep the city together.
Nice story, good plots, very entertaining.
Fantastically awesome by Bryant (Posted on 10/8/2014)
I tried really hard to wait until all three parts of the Well of Ascension were out before I listed to any of them, but failed miserably. I went through all three in three work days. Masterful job - please don't make us wait for the Hero of Ages!
