3 : The Hero of Ages (1 of 3)

by Brandon Sanderson
Jan 1, 2015
7 Hours
Ages 13+
Who is the Hero of Ages?

To end the Final Empire and restore freedom, Vin killed the Lord Ruler. But as a result, the Deepness---the lethal form of the ubiquitous mists---is back, along with increasingly heavy ashfalls and ever more powerful earthquakes. Humanity appears to be doomed.

Having escaped death at the climax of The Well of Ascension only by becoming a Mistborn himself, Emperor Elend Venture hopes to find clues left behind by the Lord Ruler that will allow him to save the world. Vin is consumed with guilt at having been tricked into releasing the mystic force known as Ruin from the Well. Ruin wants to end the world, and its near omniscience and ability to warp reality make stopping it seem impossible. She can’t even discuss it with Elend lest Ruin learn their plans!

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave readers rubbing their eyes in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

The third book starts off with another big battle. Very early in the book you start to realize how drastically things have changed for this world and for the worst. You start to learn what the end of the second book means, with the release of the new threat. Things are pretty bleak. The story also starts expanding outside of the of the main city that the past two books have taken place in. Yep they actually leave the city in force. The performance was great (voice acting, sound effects, and music)

I am in love with this series. Better than going to a theater.
No Remorse by Odis (Posted on 11/27/2016)
I love these characters, love seeing them in action, and absolutely love this book! Part one had me glued to my phone from beginning to end. Can't wait to hear the next part!

Again .... GA nails it. The source material is great, but GA brings it to life.
Mistborn 3 - Part 1 by Travis (Posted on 10/26/2016)
Vin and Elend's relationship secured, now comes the struggle to deal with the Ruin. The stakes are higher than ever, the world is at stake. Elend takes more of a larger role in this part, and secondary characters get more exposure. GA's production is, as always, amazing. The voice acting is impeccable, as is the music and sound effects. Great adaption of Sanderson's words.
Words of Founding by John (Posted on 9/28/2016)
The interludes that precede each chapter reveal so much and I had to much fun with the great moments of revelation about Hemalurgy and the truths about the Lord Ruler. An amazing fun read that brought the reader some much needed explanation and satisfaction that was left at the end of Well of Ascension.

Truly a fantastic book and Graphic Audio does it well and makes the simplistic Audible experience quite lackluster. Not to besmirch the name of Michael Kramer at all, mind you.

Get this book and have all the insights and secrets about the World of Ash revealed at long last.
Simply Amazing by Amy (Posted on 8/24/2016)
The adaptation of this series remains flawless. Everything is utterly superb.
World view by Steven (Posted on 8/14/2016)
You finally begin to find out who the real villains are in the book and you start to learn just how screwed up the world this book takes place in really is. However it's a great book to listen to.
AWESOME by Lionel (Posted on 6/6/2016)
Just love the first battle scene to start this book. Elend is the man in this one. Another great job guys!
A Fantastically Strong Ending by Cassiopeia (Posted on 5/5/2016)
With her external relationships taken care of and her internal struggles mostly assuaged, Vin takes a backseat in this story in deference to Emperor Elend Venture. Thoroughly changed from who he was, Elend is struggling to find out who he is and that makes for a far more interesting discovery than Vin's apparent ease with everything she attempts. Elend's struggles feel real and strongly emotional, with much of that due to his fabulous voice actor, and I felt neither cheated nor disappointed by the character's rise to heroism. This isn't the same Elend from the first story and yet, at the same time, it is. Combining Brandon Sanderson's fabulous storytelling with GraphicAudio's unparalleled team, The Hero of Ages is definitely worth the price.
The end is neigh!! by William (Posted on 3/14/2016)
The beginning of this book dives back into the individual characters but it also dives right into the action!! Mistborn mayhem and battles galore! Vin is amazing and so are the rest of the characters!
Hero of Ages by Olof (Posted on 2/28/2016)
Epic conclusion to the best fiction series I've read
mistborn by Chase (Posted on 2/12/2016)

The beginning of the end by Helgi Gunnar (Posted on 10/23/2015)
The story has the interesting plot and well rounded characters I have come to expect of Brandon Sanderson. While the plot is, in essence, your standard fantasy fair, it is done in a very fresh manner. Graphic Audio has regular audiobooks beat a thousand times over.
GraphicAudio's Masterpiece by Bryant (Posted on 4/5/2015)
This series was already one of the best of it's generation in my eyes, and GraphicAudio made a masterpiece of an audio performance - easily the best series I've listened to by this company. Huge thanks for sticking with it - anyone who is torn, give the first book a try. You won't be disappointed; great writing backed up by a stellar performance.
Great by Rob (Posted on 4/4/2015)

still good! by sam (Posted on 3/31/2015)
it;s been hard waiting for the parts of this series to be released
Very well done, but the voices of Vin and Allrianne are too similar... by Patrick (Posted on 3/10/2015)
Part one of book three continues to be an almost perfect realization of the written book. However, couldn't you have found a different voice for Allrianne? Her voice is much too similar to Vinn's. Luckily she only has a minor role in the series.
Hero of Ages by Eric (Posted on 2/2/2015)
What a great story this is. Fantastic production by the people at Graphicaudio, so well done as always. You know it will be an amazing and unexpected ending when it comes to stories told by Brandon Sanderson. I am so enjoying this story right now.

Love this series can't find another book that captures my interest as this series has :)
Great by tyler (Posted on 1/17/2015)
I'll warn you now. The beginning was a little odd because of the different voice in those quotes that are read before each chapter. Events also took some catching up. You will be fine though. It is a good start.
Fantastic! by ari (Posted on 1/3/2015)
Other audiobook versions of the book just seem wrong when you have experienced GA! Great job!
Hero of Ages by Mason (Posted on 11/18/2014)
Excellent end to an EXCELLENT series. Graphic audio does this justice. Other audio versions simply can't handle the attachment to the characters Sanderson's emotional development provides when in conjunction with the cast provided by GA. Love it.
