Mistborn
Collected Tales

This is a compilation of three companion stories to the original Mistborn series.

Spoiler Alert - It is recommended that you listen to the entire MISTBORN Series before listening to these short stories.

Secret History builds upon the characterization, events, and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Listen to it without that background will be a confusing process at best. In short, this isn’t the place to start your journey into Mistborn. (Though if you have listened to the trilogy—but it has been a while—you should be just fine, so long as you remember the characters and the general plot of the books.) Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story’s existence is, in a way, a spoiler. There’s always another secret.

The Eleventh Metal was written specifically for the Mistborn Adventure Game, a tabletop RPG. Please keep in mind that the story was intended to help a GM bring his players up to speed on the world if they haven’t read the books. There are a few goodies for those who want to know more about Kelsier, but this story is not meant to stand wholly on its own.

Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania is a short story about an adventuring Allomancer as told by him and edited by his Terrisman steward, Handerwym. Handerwym's annotations imply that the narrator is unreliable (prone to exaggeration and ignorance), but we do find out some of information about Koloss society post-Catacendre.

Reviews

A welcome comeback of some of the favorite characters from the Mistborn trilogy! by Patrick (Posted on 10/1/2018)
There are some parts of the story in the original Mistborn trilogy which seem to be not entirely logical. Most of these are explained by the Secret History.

The story is as well written as the first three books, the GA have produced it almost perfectly and have also got the members from the original cast to revisit their roles. Very well done!

Besides reading the the first trilogy of Mistborn before listening to the Secret History I think you should listen to at least the two first books in the Stormlight Archive series - otherwise it will kind of act as a spoiler for the Stormlight Archive as well.

Allomancer Jak would have fit right in as an appendix to any of the books in the second Mistborn trilogy :-)
These are great! by Daniel (Posted on 8/7/2018)
Stellar productions from GA as always. These are definitely worth the buy if you need your Mistborn fix!!!
More Mistborn fun by Andrew (Posted on 6/4/2018)
The Secret History novella is the longest of the three tales included in this product, The novella takes place concurrently with and provides MAJOR spoilers for books two and three in the series, and minor spoilers for book 6. It is well produced and acted. The more familiar the listener is with Sanderson's works, the more they will enjoy it, as it is the deepest dive yet into the linked cosmology underlying Mistborn, Stormlight Archive, Elantris, and Warbreaker. I will say no more.

The Eleventh Metal (starting at approximately 4:35 of the Access app version) is a prequel to the first book, and we see Kelsier just learning his allomancy. No spoilers for the main series. This could be your first Mistborn listen or you could listen after the first book.

Allomancer Jak is the final story, starting at about 5:15 in the app. This is a different style of story than the rest of the Mistborn series, and reads/listens like a pulp novel adventurer. It definitely takes place well after book 3. I would wait until after listening to book 4 for this one.

There are plenty of awesome material in this one. It was neat to get so many questions answered in such an entertaining way.
